Detatched private home set on it's own with self check in, private electric gated entrance to the old station, outside private garden and sun deck, parking outside the property, dog/pet friendly, internet enabled TV, set in an area of outstanding natural beauty (Tamar Valley) & UNESCO World Heritage Site. Breathtaking, expansive views over the stunning Tamar Valley & Dartmoor National Park. Fully fenced dog safe garden adjoining farmland. BBQ, outside lighting and patio furniture, sun loungers.

The space
Located in the grounds of a decommissioned railway station 'The Signal Box' is set in total privacy, well away from the station house, at the end of a long driveway that runs over the site of the old station tracks. Fully fenced (dog safe) private garden, fitted kitchen with 2 ring electric hob, electric oven and separate microwave, spacious fitted fridge with small freezer compartment, shower room & sun deck with table and chairs and BBQ. Outside lighting, sockets and outside tap.
Keybox entry, electric gated main entrance and driveway to the property & private parking right outside the front door of The Signal Box.
The Signal Box is a unique property which would appeal to railway enthusiasts and those who enjoy exploring all that the great location has to offer. The property is set in a UNESCO World Heritage Site (The Tamar Valley) and an AONB.
The space has been set up with couples and their pet(s) in mind but there is space to bring small children from baby up to toddler age (if a cot or bed is needed you will need to bring that with you).
There is no restriction on children rather a restriction on space so, if a mother, father, grandparent, auntie or uncle etc wishes to book the space with a related child of any age, that's absolutely fine too, a couple can be an adult and a related child in their care, adult mother and daughter, father and son, any combination is fine just as long as it's two people and if there's a third, it must be an infant under 2 years of age.
Dogs/Pets - more than one dog/pet is allowed, the garden and space has enough room - please advise in advance.
The original station master's house, hay barn and a replica waiting room/ticket office are all still in place together with the platform and the site of the old tracks and railway bridge. As a point of interest, during the First World War, the station was the South West's main hay storage depot, from where hay was transported to London by rail to supplement the war effort in which horses played a vital role.
PLEASE NOTE: IF THE SIGNAL BOX IS BOOKED FOR THE DATES YOU REQUIRE, IT HAS A STUNNING BRAND NEW SISTER CALLED 'THE SIDINGS' LISTED ON AIRBNB, IT HAS PRETTY MUCH EXACTLY THE SAME ACCOMMODATION AND OFFERING.

Guest access
Keybox entry housing remote control for electric gated main entrance (guests will be provided with a remote control for access on arrival).
'The Signal Box' is privately situated away from the main property at the end of the garden and has a fully fenced private garden and sun deck which overhangs a paddock which currently houses two rare breed tame White faced Dartmoor wether lambs who are called Donald and Boris and an older tame sheep called Francis. Food is provided for anyone who wishes to feed the sheep during their stay; they are very tame and used to guests and their pets staying in The Signal Box and the garden adjoining their paddock and often visit/hang around because they enjoy the company of people and dogs and are also ever hopeful of getting treats... They all know their individual names and will often come running to The Signal Box together to meet guests when called.

Other things to note
Our top priority is for guests to experience an enjoyable stay at The Signal Box - especially during the global Covid 19 pandemic.
We are committed to following government, local council and Airbnb guidelines and advice to ensure the health and safety of all guests during their stay.
To comply with regulations and recommendations , we have made some changes and provisions as follows:
* Before guests arrival The Signal Box will be thoroughly cleaned, we have signed up to the 'Committed to Clean' programme which has been set up by Airbnb and we will follow their procedures and guidelines when cleaning and sanitising the property between guests. A certificate, completed by the cleaner on every change over, will confirm details and will be provided for arriving guests after each clean.
* Anti bacterial hand sanitiser will be provided at the entrance to The Signal Box for use as guests enter the property and for use regularly during their stay.
* We have provided disposable gloves and antibacterial cleaning products (in the cupboard under the sink unit) for guests use.
* We have a short check in / check out window and we would ask that guests check out by 10:00am at the latest in order to provide sufficient time to carry out our deep clean process in between change overs.
* Changes to facilities - with regret, we will be removing all food items from the property, this includes tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, cooking oil and milk. We will remove shower gels but leave hand sanitisers and cleaning products.
We thank guests for their understanding and cooperation in following new procedures to ensure everyones health and safety during these challenging times.

The view from The Signal Box is unique; set in and overlooking a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an area of outstanding natural beauty - it is arguably one of the finest rural views in Cornwall and is, without doubt, one of the main attractions of the property. The view is ever changing with the season, weather conditions (we have our own micro climate here) and time of day. The night sky, on a clear night, is stunning as we have minimal light pollution here. On a clear day it's worth waking up early for sunrise and the sunset behind can be equally jaw dropping on occasion. We also see lots of rainbows here after a spell of rain and often see double rainbows across the expanse of the valley.
The area is quiet and rural (adjoining working farmland) but has easy access to main roads and many sites of interest. The Signal Box is very private and set well away from the main property.
Artists, photographers, writers, walkers, birdwatchers, stargazers and nature lovers or those simply seeking a relaxing hideaway would find this property and location particularly appealing.
Please note: we live in a rural farming community, on occasion, noise form farm machinery and livestock is to be expected. There is usually livestock in the adjoining fields from mid Summer to end of Autumn.

Tamar Trails and Dartmoor National Park are a few miles away. There are many beautiful National Trust properties in Devon and Cornwall including Cotehele which is less than 2 miles away, Pentille Castle is close by and featured in the television series 'Delicious', numerous quality pubs & restaurants, Tavistock with it's famous pannier market and, for Poldark fans, Bodmin Moor is close by (15 minutes away by car) and stunning Charlestown (just 31 minutes away by car). Port Isaac, of Doc Marin fame, is just 55 minutes drive away, St Mellion International golf resort is less than 10 minutes drive away and offers two golf courses, spa and gym. We have provided many maps, guides and leaflets in the property for guests to peruse at their leisure and we are also happy to provide recommendations if required.
