This spacious airy barn conversion apartment with walk out roof patio, lovely views across the countryside and just 10 minutes from the beach, has en-suite bathroom, free WiFi and complete privacy.
The loft in a form hay barn is attached to our 400 year old farmhouse that was the farm for the centuries old church across in this small village.

The space

This is a private airy, spacious loft apartment, (no one below or above you!), self catering, open plan with a separate bedroom, has a south westerly facing private walk out patio, WiFi, superking 6' x 6'6" kingsize bed, top quality Egyptian cotton linens, dressing gowns & an en suite bathroom.
Perfect for couples looking for a base to explore Normandy plus benefit from peace, quiet and privacy.
You have your own roof terrace with lovely views across the countryside and our Llamas & Alpacas, the use of the garden which has 2 gazebos and 2 BBQ's, you can interact with our lot if you want, we have 2 nutty Jack Russell's, one of them Madge who as far as she is concerned, all visitors are here for one reason & that is to play with her!
You have the complete apartment with it's own front door, off road secure parking.
We've tried to think of everything! Free wifi, TV which is free to view SKY TV with BBC etc. DVD player - we have in stock masses of movies to include The Longest Day & Band of Brothers (which are a bit of a must here!).
Log wood burner, bed made up with 100% Egyptian cotton linen, plenty of towels, toweling bathrobes...guest soaps, loo rolls even dishwasher tablets.
3 star classification awarded by Manche Tourisme all the safety measures installed to include smoke & CO2 detectors etc as required by Ministry Tourism.
Set within the grounds of the old farm, the house is set in 3 acres, you have your own separate entrance, secure parking and completely self contained... if you don't want to see us you don't!
We very much believe in offering a home from home approach and delivering what we would expect to have in a holiday let if we booked one. In the kitchen cupboards salt, pepper, oils, stock cubes, herbs, pasta, flour - in fact a complete larder! - All we ask is replace what you use.
As English living in France full time, we do speak French - passionate about the area, have prepared loads of information and tips about how to get the most of your stay in this hidden part of France.
8kms from Ste Mere Eglise & exactly the same distance to Carentan - 10 minutes from Utah Beach & in the heart of a National Park the Parc Naturel Regional des Marais Cotentin et du Bessin an area of outstanding natural beauty.
This is a child free zone... no traffic jams, stress and certainly none of the hustle and bustle of city living.

Guest access

You have the complete apartment with it's own front door, (no one above or below you), off road secure parking behind the electric gate,we give you a clicker for the electric gates so you can come & go without ringing the bell.
You are welcome to use the garden which has 2 gazebo's, garden furniture, BBQ's and of course visit the animals if you'd like to.

Interaction with guests

We are here if you want to interact with us, but if you want to be left alone you don't see us unless you want entirely up to you, we live here so we are equally as happy to mix or keep to ourselves!
Please note nor arrivals/departures on a Sunday or Bank Holiday - everything is closed & it's all too complicated!
Happy to help organize car hire, give travel advice, pick ups in Paris, bike hire, restaurant bookings.
Animals - We're know as Arc de Noah here in our village! we have 2 Llamas 3 Alpacas, 2 very friendly goats, 2 sheep, lots and lots of bantam & silkie chickens all at liberty, 1 goose, 3 young Jack Russell's that live for visitors & Bella a rescue York-Chi (she walked in the garden one day & decided to live with us - when we took her to be scanned, she had been stolen as a pup 7 months previously, the previous owners couldn't have her back - would love to know her adventures!) plus 8 rescue cats I've found in various pickles as kittens, in hedgerows, on roundabouts, on the road...

Other things to note

We are in the countryside right opposite the church - we have church bells, cockerels and a donkey who lives in the next field to us - he does bray. We have 4 little dogs - 3 Jacks & a York-Chi all love visitors, we have 8 rescue cats plus the Llamas & Alpacas...please do NOT book here if you don't like animals or countryside noises i.e. bells, cockerels & donkey...we try to keep the dogs contained but in the good weather our doors are open all day the dogs do rush up to demand 'where you been, what you doing now, play with me!!!' so, please again, if you don't like welcomes from very friendly dogs, don't book here...our 8 rescue cats make it their mission to explore in the most death defying places, one of the 'lookalikeys' (we have 3 identical) has discovered the roof terrace, she may well 'arrive'...again, please do not book here if you are allergic to cats - we can't herd cats!

Tansy and Mike were welcoming hosts -trying to help our short weekend stay in Normandy to be as wonderful as possible. Prior to our arrival Tainsy offered to arrange for a car to pick us up at the airport, suggested trains to research, and even made arrangements at a very small car rental company in the next town. When we went to pick up the car we were told that they would not be open on Sunday (the day we were departing) but our hosts worked with them and arranged for them to open for us. The loft apartment was very cozy and had everything we needed for the weekend. There are many animals on the property so consider this if allergies are a concern. The gardens and grounds are lovely. Overall, this was a great place to disconnect and relax!

We're a married British couple, together for over 32 years & living full time here in Normandy for the past 16 years. I'm Irish & Mike is English...we do have an interesting time during the 6 nations!
Mike a former photo journalist ...I'm not sure if there are many countries he hasn't visited & I trained and worked as Hotel Manager then went onto owning a small recruitment agency in London.
We're young 60's, (new 40's I'm told & sincerely hope is true!)...
Our rental vacation properties, are in an area of great historic interest in the heart of WW2 Landing have a choice, Beach, Town or Country...a beach house on Utah Beach 10 minutes away, a historic town house in Sainte Marie du Mont or a cottage & barn apartment for couples only here on our little 'farm' where we keep our creatures to include 4 dogs, 8 cats, 2 Llamas, 3 Alpacas, 2 sheep, 2 goats, 20 or so chickens, and 1 goose... but PLEASE do not book here at the farm if you don't like animals or have any allergies (the dogs are convinced you are here for 1 reason only...for them!) We seem to like having properties opposite the church...they tend to have a bell tower, with spookily enough a bell that rings, at the farm, it's the countryside so there are things like cockerels and in the field next to us a donkey...Stavros, who has the loudest bray in Normandy! He's not our donkey, but he thinks he is!!

I knit, sometimes using the Alpaca wool), embroider, enjoy making soft furnishings...I'm told I'm a good cook. Mike loves his motor racing, cars and keen student of WW2 and has a 1940's Jeep. We both enjoy a good movie, but our main enjoyment is when we have folk to stay that like nothing better than explore the area, are interested in all it has to offer and are here to enjoy themselves...we are both passionate about this hidden area of Normandy and the history, we love nothing better than when we have the honour to meet and host WW2 veterans and their families which we've done many times over the years.
