••••••••Please note. We are a working farm and although dusting is done, we live on a dirt road and only need one gust of wind to blow dust in under the glass doors. All care is taken to present The Barn at its best however at rare times the weather is not so caring! We are also on tank water which although is wonderful to drink, sometimes brings the problem of mould under silicone, so we are constantly bleaching area to keep it sanitary for you use. We do our best not to have the bathrooms smelling of bleach, however if you come in directly after someone has left you may pick it up for a few hours. If these issues bother you, please don’t book out our lovely Barn. Additionally due to some guests leaving the property in a poor state we now have a security bond which is fully refundable less any damages or excessive cleaning and we also have a rental agreement which we ask you to confirm you understand and agree with prior to booking. When your booking is placed with us we will assume you understand and agree to the rental terms.......

David and I purchased the farm in 2003 to take in rescued and unwanted horses dogs and cats (plus the odd duck chook and goose). Over the years we have rehabilitated and rehomed many 4 legged friends and have had many that have lived theirs lives out gently to the end with us. We currently have 14 horses 3 dogs and 2 cats. In 2004 we built The Barn which we converted to a dwelling over the subsequent years. In 2017 we decided to move out of it and share it with those travellers wanting a taste of the rural life and peace and tranquility, whilst still being close to the rural cities in North East Victoria. The Barn is now our slice of paradise offered to our valued guests. The Retreat is a one bedroom suite new to The Barn at Whispering Hills. There is nothing quite like waking up to the view of horses and cattle grazing contentedly, the sound of birds waking and the views of rolling hills, native gums and the colours of the ever changing seasons.

During your stay

We reside at the top of the property (300 metres away from The Barn). This is a working horse property so often horses are being trained or prepared for riding at the roundyard (approx 200 metres from dwelling), or fencing and other farm work is being carried out. We generally have minimal interaction with our guests, preferring to let them enjoy themselves with no interference. When we’re away, our property manager can be contacted if necessary for assistance.
