Exceptional check-in experience

Stevie, a lovingly restored van that has settled under the foothills of Mt Warning & The Pinnacle of the Border Ranges. She sits perched high on 12 acres just 8km from the quaint village of Tyalgum, or 30 mins from Murwillumbah. Enjoy a private & recuperative stay or spend your days bushwalking, cycling or even visit the beaches, a scenic 50min drive away. Relish the thought that on your return you can sit on your deck awaiting our chef's dinner and a soak in the hot tub.

The space
Stevie has a deck with an awning to sit and relax on with panoramic views of our beautiful valley. Lots of great walking and cycling areas in the vicinity; both road and mountain biking. If beaches are your thing they are approx. 50 mins away by car through scenic meandering country roads. Get ideas and inspiration by Stevie’s Guidebook.
Inside Stevie offers a comfy innerspring double bed with luxurious French linen, Nespresso coffee machine with biodegradable pods (including coffee, decaf, hot chocolate). There is also a kettle, toaster, microwave, mini-retro fridge, reverse air-conditioner, ample crockery, cutlery and utensils for your Weber outdoor bbq. Also supplied in the kitchen is tea, sugar, milk, oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, clingwrap and foil. There is a fold-down table to dine on with stools. This space can also double as a work station. But you're not here to work!!
The property boasts scenic views of the Border Ranges, McPherson Ranges and Mt Warning. We have a lot of bird life and visiting wallabies.
Mobile and wifi are available on Telstra network.
Stevie also has its own ensuite with a shower, vanity and environmentally friendly compost toilet. You may have to duck a little in the shower if you're tall but there's a bench to sit on too.
Your breakfast of muesli and yoghurt is made here, complemented by our compote fruit.
PLEASE NOTE: jars are not for removal. Takeaway containers are provided should you wish to take leftovers.
On booking, we will then communicate with you to see if you would like our in-house chef to enhance your stay and culinary experience with a cooked breakfast, afternoon antipasto plate or dinner. The fare will be affordable, fresh and memorable. We endeavour to do our best to meet dietary requirements. Our kitchen is council approved with a Food Safety Supervisor and qualified chef. The main house is only 40 metres away but rest assured your space is private and situated so you feel like no one else is around.
More importantly, the hot tub! We want you to melt away aches, pains and stress in our relaxing hot tub. Soak as you watch the sun set over the picturesque mountains surrounding the Border Ranges and Mount Warning.

Guest access
The van, deck, bbq on their deck, hot tub and any area around van and their fence. Only out of bounds is our shed, house and decks and yard area. You can explore the rest of property. At times we have very long grass in main paddock but we endeavour to keep a track mowed for your convenience

Other things to note
The initial generous amount of wood supplied for firepit and hot tub is complimentary. Should you require more, it will be $25 a bin.
At times when there's rain and wind it can get wet on the deck and seating area outside. There is a mop provided and old towels to wipe things over or sit on.
HEIGHT to consider. This is a 1973 van with original features which has some height restrictions in some areas, eg the ceiling height is quite low especially the bathroom area where the light is. So if tall you may need to duck your head near the light to avoid brushing up against it.

Neighbourhood highlights

Just down the road you can experience the old fashioned country service in the village of Tyalgum. Some great gelato on the weekends is an absolute must. If you are cycling it takes about 25 minutes or by car its 8 mins. There is a lot of documented history in the village which you can learn from the plaques positioned on some of the buildings that you'll see as you walk around. Flutterbies Cafe is an unique experience. 'Treat Massage' is owned by Lesmay and she is amazing.

Go further afield to explore the beautiful village. Mount Warning is currently closed for climbing.
Husk Distillery has a beautiful vibe and food.
Natural Arch is about 30 minutes drive in Numinbah Valley for a beautiful easy hike.
