Escape the city in style with a uniquely memorable cottage stay in the gorgeous village of Blackheath, the last bastion of true Blue Mountains village character!
Dalpura is a classic but modern cozy mountains cottage with a huge cathedral timber ceiling, gas fireplace, & loft bedroom with views of the Kanimbla valley.
Fantastic bush walks & lookouts direct from your doorstep! Including Porters Pass, Fort Rock, Centennial Glenn, and the Grotto canyon.

The space
If you are going to stay in the mountains, be sure to do it in classic mountains style!
Dalpura blends modern conveniences with that classic cathedral timber ceiling mountains cottage character.

Be greeted with views of the stunning Kanimbla valley at the end of the road as you drive in, you feel as though you are really on top of the blue mountains and adventure awaits. And indeed you are, as Blackheath is the highest village in the mountains, sometimes getting snow in winter time. And the dark clear night air is fantastic for star gazing.

Dalpura is the perfect place for a romantic couples getaway, and is very popular with small families or two couples. Complimentary wine awaits you upon arrival.

The cottage comfortably hosts four people in two bedrooms. There is an extra double sofa bed in the media room if needed (sheets not provided for sofa bed). Although we recommend only four guests maximum as there is only dining and seating for 4.

The gorgeous large main loft bedroom with queen sized bed has that classic wooden mountains cottage feel about it.
The 2nd bedroom downstairs has a King sized bed that can be split into and made up into two king singles upon request after booking.
Electric blankets can be requested in winter time (not normally fitted for comfort reasons), but the quilts are super warm 12 TOG thermal rating.
All beds have brand new comfortable premium AH Beard Kingcoil mattresses.

It may be a small cozy cottage but we haven't forgotten the modern conveniences:
There is a media room with a 60" Sony smart TV with Netflix account already set up for your enjoyment, along with a gigantic couples beanbag + sofa. Choose from thousands of adult or children's programs, no complications just push the Netflix button.
Beware of places that have outdated Austar or Foxtel, just free-to-air TV, or no TV at all!
A rock solid unlimited data WiFi or Ethernet direct NBN internet connection is provided, not flaky GSM or ADSL based. 50Mbit download and 20Mbit upload speed for fast uploading of your photo and video adventures.
2.4A Fast USB charger in the kitchen & media room for all your electronic toys.

Brand new high capacity reverse cycle air-conditioning in the main living area and loft bedroom heats and cools the space quickly and efficiently (many places in Blackheath do not have air-conditioning).
This complements the new modern gas fireplace, no messy and polluting wood to burn, just switch it on and enjoy.
Laundry with washing machine and ironing board.
Dishwasher and full size fridge in the fully equipped kitchen. Tea, hot chocolate, and coffee provided.
The bathroom has a heater, and shower is over the bathtub. Hairdryer provided.

There is a new Beefeater BUGG BBQ on the outdoor patio for your outdoor cooking needs. It has a town natural gas connection so you'll never run out of gas. Silicone cooking mat provided.

This is our family mountains cottage retreat that we use as a base for all our mountaineering adventures, and we'd love for you to share this gorgeous place with us and experience all that the Blue Mountains has to offer!

Dalpura is situated in a quiet secluded street perched on the edge of the Kanimbla valley, it has that real mountains feel to it.
Wildlife abounds, and kangaroos and echidna's have been known to wander the streets and the nearby oval at dawn and dusk.
Walk the Grand Canyon track after dusk and marvel at the spectacular glowworms! They are really out in large numbers at the moment.

Extensive guestbook in-house with all sorts of recommendations on things to see and do.

Access to the famous Porters Pass loop track, Centennial Glenn track, Fort Rock, and the stunning Grotto canyon is at your door. These tracks offer world class lookouts, and the Grotto canyon is not to be missed - all within walking distance.
Take a bottle of wine to Fort Rock and watch a stunning sunset over the Kanimbla valley.

You can also walk to Blackheath via the Centennial Glenn track and the Grotto canyon. Great for a morning adventure before having lunch in Blackheath.

The Grand Canyon, Govett's Leap, and the Rhododendron gardens are only a short drive away, as are many other classic Blackheath bushwalks and lookouts.
Blackheath is an ideal location to avoid the bus loads of tourists at Katoomba.

The cottage is a short few minutes drive to the main street of Blackheath village, one of the last bastions of the classic Blue Mountains. The quaint shops, art galleries, and nice selection of cafe's and friendly laid back atmosphere will delight you. A strikingly different atmosphere to tourist focused Katoomba.

Blackheath is a great base to visit Katoomba, Leura, Wentworth Falls, Mount Victoria and beyond. Jenolan Caves and Bathurst are only 1 hour away and can be done as a day trip.

Electric Car friendly, with a 240V 10A power point and extension cord under the front porch. BYO EVSE.

Guest access
There is a top quality baby carrier hiking backpack (20kg maximum) in the cupboard, feel free to use it for your daily adventures with your little one! (or just as a hiking backpack).

There is a large fold out portable cot (BYO sheets), and baby change mat.

Other things to note
Please bare these points in mind if you have mobility issues:
The loft bedroom is obviously up a flight of stairs, but you can use the downstairs bedroom if the stairs are too much.
There are five steps to get into the house, and the shower is over the bathtub.
The driveway is loose gravel.
The stairs are not equipped with a child gate.
