We call our house The Billiards Room because it was designed and built around a full-sized billiards table. This was a labour of love by a retired builder who used recycled materials to create a home with real character and charm. Modernised with style, it's a wonderful holiday home, summer and winter, still owned by the family of the builder. Even somewhere as beautiful as Queenstown, guests often prefer just to stay in. Serious.

The space
The house offers sensational views of both the picturesque Frankton Arm of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables mountain range. Unusually for this area, it also has a private, expansive flat lawn and a cottage garden. One of the big advantages of the house is the range of living areas -- a lounge with wonderful lake views, a kitchen-dining area, a study, a conservatory and, of course, the billiards room.

Guest access
The house is mainly at a first-floor level (it is largely built over a double garage) with access provided by internal stairs. There are three bedrooms in the main part of the house, including the primary bedroom with ensuite, and a further two bedrooms downstairs (off the side of the garage) with their own bathroom.

We have a ski drying room in the garage as well as a table tennis table
