Step into your zen urban oasis from the cobblestone streets outside and enjoy the luxurious amenities of this modern walled property with mountain and pocket lake views. Our home includes mature landscaping, solar heated pool with a cascading rock waterwall and full bath by the pool, enjoy the private mountain view balcony in the large master suite including the spa bathroom with large steam shower (wet sauna), boveda ceilings and a gourmet, fully outfitted kitchen.

The space
This is a spacious home - enjoy dining outside on the terrace or a glass of wine on the master balcony, curl up with a good book in the upstairs sitting room, have a nap on the 2 person chaise lounge in the master bedroom or enjoy watching the birds on the rock waterfall from a cozy place on the living room couch. Enjoy all these surroundings while allowing the included gardener, pool service and maid to take care of maintenance. There are 6 very good restaurants within 2 blocks and the home is located 1 block to the lake and 4 blocks to the Ajijic malecon (the promenade along the lake in the village). The property is walled and has a 2 car garage and a tv intercom at the front gate so you can communicate with visitors. Long term rentals include 1-2 weeks of house swapping for an oceanfront newly remodeled home in Manzanillo if desired.

Other things to note
Our home and all furnishings and decor are new from the latter part of 2017. This is not a bare bones rental. The kitchen is fully outfitted, the linens are high thread count, there is art adorning the walls of each room and a supply of books in the sitting room.

Location

Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico

Our street is cobblestone with lovely, large hacienda like properties surrounding it and just 1 block from the lake. It’s walking distance to the village (4 blocks to the malecon ) and with a bus passing in front, but without the intense noise of the village. It retains the Mexican village character with people riding by on horseback several times per day. If you don’t want to cook, there are numerous very good and inexpensive restaurants within 2, 3 and 4 blocks. Just one of the notable ones is Yves with its large garden and fountain and the famous rescued white donkeys, Vino Blanco and Martini. They are made famous by many paintings featuring them, one hanging in our house. Each morning a man rides one and the other follows freely behind past our house on the way to the lake for a sip and a munch.

We are originally from Texas, early retired and living in Mexico full time (in Ajijic in the summer and in Manzanillo in winter.
During your stay
We are in Mexico all year around and live in our Ajijic home mainly in the summer. We will be there to greet you on arrival and are otherwise available via phone, text or email. We have written a house manual explaining where everything is, how it works, contact numbers (ours as well as for the maid, gardener and pool service) and favorite restaurants and shopping places.
