This guest suite is about 650 sf, and has a living area, king size bed, 3/4 bath, kitchenette, stone wall with free standing electric fireplace, and all lofted ceilings.

Silver Creek Loft is nestled on 13 acres that include ponds, a runoff creek, geese, ducks, and deer. It is located within three miles of two trail heads for the Lake Superior Hiking Trail, and is less than 15 minutes from Gooseberry Falls.

Pets are allowed, and the unit is well cleaned after.

The space
For winter visitors, the ERKKI HARJU Ski Trail is only 10 minutes away. Some see moose and deer, and it's kept nicely groomed. (You will see deer here for sure.) There is an easy loop that is short, and that is lit at night.

Gooseberry, about 15 minutes away, has nicely groomed ski trails.
Also nearby are cross country the ski trails; Korkki Nordic, and Split Rock State Park. Also, most of the state parks up the shore boast cross country ski trails.

Snowshoeing is also allowed at all Minnesota State Parks and Recreational Areas except if the trail has been groomed for other use, such as cross country skiing.

Beaver Bay Sports rents snowshoes, open 9-5, and for $28. They are a bit up the shore in Beaver Bay which is near Silver Bay.
The property includes walking paths and is beautifully landscaped. For more challenging, natural hiking, the Lake Superior Hiking Trail is nearby. There are also good trails at Gooseberry and Split Rock.

Other cross country ski trails include the; Korkki Nordic, and Split Rock State Park.

I do have cats and they are occasionally in the Loft when it is not rented. I have had people stay who had cat allergies without any problem, but if you are highly allergic it may not be a good idea.

Please note that the walls are loft walls, meaning they don't go all the way to the ceiling. I had one guest who felt embarrassed that his bathroom activities could be heard by his partner. (So, maybe not a good place for an adventure with a new sweetheart?)

On site, for your use, is a fire pit and BBQ.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to use the charcoal grill if the kitchenette doesn't meet their needs. The kitchenette includes a microwave, a fridge, toaster, coffee maker, crock pot, and electric skillet.

There is a second fire pit that may be cozier right in front of the house. Guests are welcome there also.

Other things to note
Check out the property. This video is from one of my guests. Find this on you tube - put this in the search bar "watch?v=wxwiKo7H6nM." The unit shown is the guesthouse, but it is the same property as the Loft. Set to Frank Sinatra.

I am an environmental/mechanical engineer, and an artist. I work from my home as a consultant helping industrial facilities meet their environmental requirements. My daughter, who is an environmental scientist graduate, works with me. I transplanted with my family from Minneapolis to this beautiful property 14 years ago. Previous to that we spent as much time on the North Shore as we could.
