Wake up to the magpies, go to sleep with the frogs, kookaburras or cockatoos calling from the creek. During farm walks you will see kangaroos, wallabies, echidna and many birds including our resident eagles.

Beckworth Retreat is a working farm located at the foot of Mt Beckworth just 20min north of Ballarat.

Great place for groups but please note that we live in our attached private area and you will be amongst daily farm activity.

The space
Each of the 3 x 2Br Family Suites have their own bathroom and there are various bed configurations to cater for your needs. One of these has Universal Access space.

Plenty of sunny/shady spots to relax in the garden.

Pet friendly - a pet haven for well behaved furry friends - however pets must be under full control of an adult at all times and never left alone at the property (inside or in the garden).

Guest access
There is an extensive garden area (enclosed for your furry friends but those not so well behaved will have to be contained as there are spots where dogs can get through or under) and a large verandah area where you can always find a spot to just sit in the sun or the shade.
Walkers can access Mt Beckworth Scenic Reserve via our farm tracks but this is seasonal

Other things to note
Kitchen facilities are available including plenty of pantry basics and tea/coffee essentials.
BBQ facilities are also available but we do recommend many of the local restaurants/cafes/hotels for lunches and dinner.

Neighbourhood highlights

The historic township of Clunes (Victoria's first gold mining town) is only 5' drive and it is highly recommended to spend some hours browsing through the Booktown stores or just sitting having a coffee being part of the historic "film set" main street.
Many Victorian Secrets (Pyrenees, Goldfields, Mineral Spas) are all a short drive away.

We have lived and worked all over Australia and New Zealand (school teachers) and done a lot of travel ourselves. We love people and love to share our little bit of paradise at Beckworth Retreat which has been in the family for over 150 years. Now we are retired from Education and enjoy farming fulltime - what a great life!
