Tiny Home Log Cabin--with sleeping loft, deck, views, secluded yet 7 minutes to downtown Boone and App State. Acres of land to explore and hiking in the neighborhood. Your own private hot tub under the stars. Picnic area and fire pit with free fire wood delivered upon request. Cabin is across the road and uphill from the New River. Free use of our kayaks and tubes as well-need to reserve in advance. Beautifully decorated with all new interior furnishings and appliances.

The space
This is a beautifully built and finished Gastineau Homes Log Cabin with loft, dormers, deck, private bedroom, full bathroom with bathtub, full kitchen, stacking washer/dryer unit, internet, smart tv with Charter cable, Hulu and Netflix pre-loaded and signed in for you. Vaulted ceilings, with ceiling fans in bedroom and family room. Air Conditioning and Heating. Beautiful ceiling lamps. This was a showroom cabin and display model and then moved from its "home" in Kentucky to our home in the Appalachian mountains, just a few miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The bedroom features a brand new, high end queen mattress, double-tiered closet and dresser as well as glass door to the outside. Private bathroom with toilet and tub/shower. Across the "hall" from this is a sink/mirror and small storage area. Family room features a sleeper sofa, and recliner chair, small sofa table, table and stools and entertainment center. Oak log cabins are of the highest quality of the log cabins. Great insulation. Quiet. Superior craftsmanship.

DECK: table for four, rolling cart for drinks and food, two stools. Solar lighted rock pathway down to hot tub and wooden spool table/picnic table and fire pit area. PLEASE NOTE: There is a railing at the entrance to the deck that is not nailed down. This can be used as a gate to push in front of the deck steps to keep young ones or pets on the deck, so you don' have to worry about them wandering off.

This is a No Shoe home, so we ask that you either wear your socks, go barefoot or bring some of your own slippers. Also, if you're bringing pets, be sure to clean their paws very well before entering the house.

Some special features include:
-- Himalayan Salt lamp in the bedroom
-- Keurig coffee maker, so bring K-cups if you wish. 2 K-cups supplied upon arrival.
-- Copper pots--cookware
-- Recliner chair to watch the trees grow
-- If you’ve forgotten your reading glasses, there’s a tiny pair on the sofa table
-- Smart tv with Netflix and Hulu pre-set and signed in for you
-- Top of the line new mattress and box springs and high count sheet
-- Cute little arched copper reading lamp
-- Welcome chalk board
-- Copper candy bowl

Please let us know if you're interested in kayaking or tubing so we can set up a time to take you up river and you can take out in our front yard (which is down the hill from the cabin--separate entrance. Note: you cannot see our home from the cabin as the cabin is at the top end of the 5 acre lot.

Bring your bicycle or your fishing pole.

Guest access
The cabin and deck and acres around the cabin are all for you to explore. It's very private and quiet. Watch the woodpeckers from the deck, look for a bald eagle. Watch the deer in the late afternoon or early morning, watch the fire flies at night from the hot tub.

Other things to note
We have a small deck/platform out the bedroom sliding glass doors, should you wish to depart out this way. It's more of a secondary access than a useable deck.

There's lots of firewood around the acreage that you're welcome to use for the fire pit. We can deliver firewood from our home, to you, upon request.

We are a family of five that lived and worked in Asia for 20 plus years and LOVE to travel the world. We now call Boone, home, though we can still be found crossing the continents for work and play. Our home was one of the highest occupancy vacation rentals in our area while we lived overseas. Now we get to live in it. Airbnb is built on trust and relationships. We LOVE this concept and have had hundreds and hundreds come through our door. We've been hosting since late August of 2015. How has it been? --FABULOUS! We love hosting guests in one of our two upstairs rooms when we're home as well as having large gatherings rent our entire home when we're out of town. We also have two, secluded, tiny home cabins that are wildly popular and great places to stay and explore the tiny home concept. We aim to treat each guest that walks into our home as part of our family. We delight to have guests enter as strangers and depart as friends. That said, we'll give you all the space you need, but if you want to chat over a cup of coffee or a drink on the deck, we're happy to do that. We are followers of Jesus and are blessed to have been able to work around the world helping the poorest of the poor through sustainable development. We really enjoy sharing some pretty cool stories with our guests. We love travel, international cultures, exotic foods, the outdoors, dark chocolate, red wine, college football--well most any sport, romantic comedies, mountains, authentic conversations, and especially our three amazing kids!!! As of this writing--summer of 2020, our oldest just graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. And, she has a job! Our middle just finished her first year at Biola University in La Mirada, CA and our youngest will be a senior in high school. Before we know it, we'll be empty nesters and this is somewhat terrifying.
