Cute little penthouse with a great terrace granting alluring views over the Messinian Bay, Taygetos mountain and the city. This terrace is second to none in Kalamata.

Right on the sea promenade - beach across the street - where in the summer the heart of the city beats 24h a day while the rest of the year you can enjoy poetic tranquility.

Attention has been given to specifically tailored environmental friendly furniture The mattresses, the linen and the bath towels are of organic quality.

The space
This freshly renovated penthouse has one of the greatest terraces in the city, with unrestricted views over the Messinian bay to the south, the Taygetos mountain to the east, and the city of Kalamata to the west and north.

The apartment itself is small (31m2) but its private terrace is huge (100m2) giving you enough space to enjoy all different moods your day might have.

Great attention has been given to specifically tailored furniture to make your stay most comfortable.

The main room contains a small kitchen with a small table and behind a decorative separation the main bed (140cm), from which you can enjoy unrestricted views to the sea and the mountain.

Then there is a second snug little bedroom with one bed (90cm), which has its own door and a cupboard for your clothes.

Between the two, there is a short corridor and a very small but modern bathroom with shower and pun-gun.

The main thing about this penthouse is though its huge terrace.
There is enough space there for all kind of things. There is an outside shower there. But you can also take the stove out there and make your cooking under the shadow of the pergola. And at nights you can enjoy lying under the stars on one of the deck chairs ....

As far as possible all furniture, the linen and towels are of organic quality (Cocomat and Demko Feder). So are the eatables you'll find in the apartment.

Guest access
The entrance of the building is on its east side (vertical street to the sea promenade). You reach the apartment with the elevator up to the 5th floor and then one more stair up to the roof. To my regret, it's not wheelchair accessible.

Other things to note
The penthouse is located on the roof of a 5 story building at the sea promenade of Kalamata. The building itself is and looks pretty old, but don't let that jar you, after you enter the apartment's door it's an other world.

The nearest beach is across the street (with newly planted trees).

There is a washing machine at your disposal and usually all the stuff you need to do your laundry. This is meant to ease your stay in case you have one or two laundries to make. In case you like to wash more, you would need to use your own laundry detergents.

In the summer a nice wind blows all through the apartment, so the air-conditioning is usually not needed. You are also kindly asked not to leave the air-conditioning running when the windows are open or when you are on the way.

We do take care of the environment so most of the things you'll find in the apartment are ecological or organic.

There is a first aid kit in the apartment, with the main stuff usually expected and some homoeopathic basics too. For anything more serious we are here to assist further.

Please note that your downstairs neighbour (a doctor by the way) needs to rest quietly, so please respect the quiet hours 15:00 -17:30 and 22:00 - 07:30

In the summer finding a parking lot can be an issue. There is a greater parking lot two blocks to the north though, where one can park even on high season.

In the summer months, a certain level of city and beach noise is to be expected. High pitched voices from kids playing on the beach can be heard not loud but clear all the way up to the terrace.

When you arrive you will be handed my phone numbers on which you can reach me. You can call me without hesitation any time of the day. (For the periods of 15:00 - 17:00 and 00:00 - 7:00 though, make sure it's about something important that can't wait).
You will also be given the wifi password.

Please keep in mind that the apartment is a no - smoker one. There is a large terrace where you can smoke though and ashtrays are provided there.

We are not allowed by law to offer any services like cleaning during your stay. Please dispose of garbage and especially of ashtray ashes at the containers on the other side of the street to the north.

For hygienic reasons, the bath towels should not leave the apartment.
For outdoors we provide beach towels, so you can also save some weight when you're packing your things for the journey :)

There is a cupboard on the terrace which contains things which one could use for staying out there (and some cleaning stuff). One must though be aware of the weather and put things back into the cupboard if necessary, as the winds up here can be very strong.

Please also note that we appreciate being informed about your check-out time as much in advance as possible, this eases our planning.

We appreciate any comment you can provide us with in order to improve our services.

Location

Kalamata, Greece

The apartment is on the sea promenade of Kalamata.
This promenade is full of shops, cafes and restaurants many of which are only open during the summer months.

The main commercial and economic center of the city is about 2km away. It can be reached on foot and even better by bike.
A bus stop is 20m down the road.

In the summer months, there is a 24h kiosk about 200m further.

Catering possibilities at every corner.

And ATTENTION: a certain level of city - noise is to be expected.

In the summer months finding a parking lot can be a bit difficult in this neighborhood. You might need to park two blocks away then.

Hi, I'm Nico I'm Swiss - Greek in my 50s. I lived half of my life in Switzerland and almost half my life in Greece, and a small (but very impressive) part on Malta. Since 2017 I'm back in Greece, where I live with my girlfriend and her daughter in the city of Kalamata. I love to dance Tango Argentino, ride my bike, sail, fly a plane, dive, listen to music, read, do nothing, talk, and many other things...I find life quite interesting. I was introduced to Airbnb by my three children who all of them are Airbnb travelers. So I started as a traveler too. Now since 2017, I'm also a host, and I like this part a lot. The idea I'm following for my own listings is to offer such which are on the 'Top', metaphorically speaking (quality for price) but also in the real sense of the word: on the TOP of the building they are. In the meantime I have two of them, the second one opened in Sommer 2018. I also co-host for friends of mine. I'm a non-smoker. And I'm also ecological, meaning I do try to take care of the environment as far as I can. So most of the things you'll find in my apartments are ecological or organic in one way or the other. I would be glad to meet and host you if you ever come to Kalamata cheers :)
