If you are looking for a character-filled home to stay in, in the heart of a charming and lively village in Abruzzo, then Casa Vista Majella is the perfect home for you.

This antique home is newly refurbished and has new Smeg appliances and memory foam mattresses. Spectacular views of the Majella Mounatin will set the scene for your vacation.

From the house you can stroll down to the main Piazza, shops and supermarket.

Loreto is a great base, only half an hour from the beach and mountains.

The space
Casa Vista Majella, is known to be at least 500 years old and has 1 meter thick walls in some places.
The 'living room' features lovely brick and stone archways and an exposed arched ceiling. Throughout the property there are hand-painted antique doors, exposed wooden beams and vaulted ceilings.
The kitchen is very characteristic and fitted with a traditional concrete sink, decorative copper items, and antique table and chairs, yet it has modern Smeg appliances including a dishwasher and Lavazzza coffee machine (pods can be bought from the local supermarket).
There are lovely views from the kitchen/dining area and both bedrooms and especially from the balcony on the top floor, equipped with table and chairs to enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon aperitivo.
The bottom floor has a laundry equipped with iron, clothes-horse and Smeg washing machine and dryer (a rarity in Italy)!
Wifi is very reliable on all levels and a smart tv provided so you can watch Netflix etc.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to use the entire house.

Other things to note
In this historical village, free parking is available on the street. You can park just out the front or near to the house where parking is available.
Otherwise, there is plenty of parking at the end of the street which is a short walk to the house.

There are many stairs in the house which would be problematic for disabled people, the elderly, or small children.

Location

Loreto Aprutino, Abruzzo, Italy

Loreto Aprutino is the most character-filled and beautiful village within easy reach of Pescara and both the sea and mountains.
You can spend hours roaming the many tiny streets and laneways, stairs and archways and the local people are very friendly.
There is a lively piazza with a handful of bars to choose from and on Thursday mornings there is a local market. My husband and I like to get a porchetta panino (slow-cooked pork roll) from the Forese Tonino van and enjoy them on the park benches overlooking the valley with glimpses of the Adriatic Sea.
There are two museums that must be seen. One is an antique olive oil factory an the other is the most extensive collection of Castelli Ceramics.
Nearby, there are many wineries to visit, such as Talamonti, Ciavolich, Galasso, Maramiero and Zaccagnini, just to name a few!
During October or November, I highly recommend visiting the local frantoio (olive oil factory and press) Oleificio Parlione at contrada Collefreddo, Loreto Aprutino. You can view the whole process of making olive oil and the smell is incredible!
Loreto Aprutino is the perfect base to venture out from to explore Abruzzo.
