Our large family home is situated in a very quiet residential part of Kirkwall so you can be assured of a restful sleep. We are a 5 - 10 minute walk from the town centre with it's unique local shops and cafes, St Magnus Cathedral, Earl's Palace and Museum. For the whisky lovers we are a short walk from the famous Highland Park Distillery . We are a 5 minute walk from the new Balfour Hospital and Health Centre complex. We love meeting people and welcome guests from all backgrounds into our home.

The space
We currently offer a large, bright double room situated upstairs and separate from our living areas. The bathroom is not en-suite but is just across the landing directly opposite your room.
**For 2022 this bathroom will be for the sole use of guests in this room. We have a second room, but for guests safety, we have decided to automatically block it out unless it is let to guests from the same family/booking, please ask should you be interested in the second room**
We offer a self-serve continental style breakfast and our guests are loving it! A typical breakfast includes fresh bread (there is a kettle and toaster in each room) with a choice of condiments, famous Orkney oatcakes, Orkney cheese, a choice of cereals with Orkney milk and apple / orange juice. There is a fruit bowl and a selection of tea, coffee, fruit teas and hot chocolate. You won't go hungry or thirsty here ! If you have any special dietary requirements please advise at time of booking and we will do our utmost to accomodate you.
You will find spare towels in the unit on the landing with extra bedding and a blanket in the large wardrobe in your room. There is an ironing board and iron provided.
We have a large private and enclosed garden with benches and seating - guests are most welcome to sit and watch our breathtaking sunsets!
For long staying guests there is access to the washing machine in our kitchen (please just ask us to help) and a large drying green around the back of the house.
Due to work commitments, we may not be around for much of your stay, but where possible, we aim to be here to greet you on your arrival and to say cheerio on your departure.
