This studio apartment was originally the master bedroom add-on to a darling 1930’s cottage, so now it functions as a duplex. You walk past the front of the cottage, down a path, to discover the hidden studio. The yard you’ll go through to access the studio is shared with the front of the house, which is also an Airbnb rental.
Nearby are the historic rural cemetery park and a local grocery store. About a mile away is Russian River Brewery and a little further is Historic Railroad Square.

The space
The studio has a full kitchen and is equipped with dishes, pots and pans, silverware, glassware, a coffee maker, and coffee, tea, sugar and cream. There are usually other condiments in the fridge as well.
The bed is a comfy double with 100% cotton sheets and quilts, and down alternative comforters. The bathroom has 100% cotton towels, as well as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap. There are other amenities in the bathroom as well, including a first aid kit.
There’s a kitchen table with two chairs, two comfortable armchairs, and a tv. There is a deck with two chairs and a table, as well as a side yard with a small barbecue grill and outdoor table and chairs. The side yard is shared with the front half of the duplex, which is also an Airbnb listing.

Guest access
To get to the studio, you’ll walk around the right side of the cottage at the end of the driveway. The second porch is the entrance to the studio. The back deck is available for your exclusive use. The yard is shared with other guests who may be renting the front part of the cottage.

Other things to note
In the aftermath of the covid19 pandemic, I wear a mask and gloves when cleaning, use certified cleaning products, and hit all handles, switches, levers and frequently-touched areas with alcohol on my way out after cleaning.

The studio shares a common wall with “Tucked-away 1930’s cottage”, another Airbnb listing. The walls have been sound-proofed, but observing quiet hours after 10:00pm or so is a good idea.

The listed price includes a 12% transient occupancy tax payable to the city of Santa Rosa. There are no further tax charges once the studio is booked.

Location

Santa Rosa, California, United States

The neighborhood is known as the Junior College Neighborhood because of its proximity to the Santa Rosa Junior College. It grew from 5-20 acre farms in the valley, through successive infill during the 20’s and 30’s to even more development in the 40’s. It’s full of cute little highly-desirable renovated homes, and is centrally located in the heart of Santa Rosa.

I've sold vintage clothing for a living my whole adult life, for 31 years at the same location in the historic district of Santa Rosa, Railroad Square. I love having parties and hosting my friends for dinner and fun evenings, and think it's about time I widened my reach to include travelers I don't already know. When I travel, I look for locally owned and hosted bed and breakfast places. I love the interchange of ideas that happens over coffee and continental breakfast. I'd love for you to visit and let me help you have a great experience of beautiful Sonoma County.

During your stay
I don’t live on the property, but am always available by phone once guests arrive and by text or through the Airbnb site any other time. I am frequently on the property, because I clean both the studio and the cottage in front of the studio when guests check out. I love meeting guests whenever possible because the fun of hosting is in getting to know new people. I hope our paths will cross during your visit.
