The space
Remember when holidays were about stumbling upon hidden quiet beaches, little-known places, relaxed restaurants and reconnecting with loved ones?

In bringing together whalebone, our hope is to bring those treasured memory-making lazy days to you.

Wander across the road to the sand to swim, sun and submerge yourself in the aqua-marine of the Indian Ocean. Return salty skinned, grab a book, amble to the daybed and unwind to the sound of lapping waves.

Catch up with loved ones over lunch at our outdoor table, taking in glimpses of the bay through the rustling Peppi trees.

Enjoy sunrise strolls and early morning runs along white sandy beaches. Discover the breath taking beauty of the Cape to Cape walk.

Find intimate early dinners with fresh produce in local restaurants. Explore local world-class wineries, an array of dining experiences and phenomenal wines.

w h a l e b o n e is the project of Nic Cartledge, owner of Milc in Dunsborough. Nic has been curating, dreaming and imagining w h a l e b o n e for years. With stunning interiors and stylish touches she’s designed a secret sanctuary that will have you rested and restored.

“I wanted to create a space that guests can use as a base to rediscover their sense of exploration and uncover the many joys of the surrounding area; a place to relax and connect with nature,” says Nic. “Somewhere to bring local supplies home and enjoy them on the deck, to stroll across the road and watch beautiful sunrises…a place to reconnect with friends, partners and themselves. I hope you will enjoy it."

Also note this is a non pet property we are doing our bit hosting endangered natives species of possums in our trees and dogs cause them great distress!
