Set on 80acres in the heart of the Barossa Valley this private, self-contained guest wing is surrounded by vineyard and gardens. Our retreat gets you back to nature... with vineyard and scrub walks, (accompanied by at least one of our Border Collies), friendly geese, an inquisitive free-roaming peacock, hens, rescued & wild kangaroos, the occasional Koala and a myriad of birdlife. Take in the views from the verandas, sit by the campfire (during the cooler months) or relax in the hammock.

The space
Our home was designed by us and built in 2002 on a hill overlooking our vineyards. A purpose-built, private two bedroom guest wing with separate entrance, offers fully self-contained accommodation for up to 4 guests. The second bedroom can be configured as a king bed or two singles. Features include a full kitchen with bar fridge and a large open space living area with floor to ceiling windows to capture the views. The living area and both bedrooms have large windows and glass doors opening out on to the verandahs. The bathroom has a separate shower and deep bath with wonderful vineyard views. There is under-floor heating throughout for the colder months, reverse cycle air-conditioning, free WiFi and a Weber BBQ.

Guest access
Guests have use of their own outside verandahs and garden furniture including a hammock, their own fire-pit and are welcome to walk around the property. We also have two bikes for guests to use. We have a book exchange and board games.

Other things to note
As we have free-range hens, we will provide fresh eggs daily if needed. On your arrival the kitchen will be well-stocked with necessary condiments including home-made jam, sauce, biscuits and savouries, as well as tea, coffee and milk. We have a choice of excellent nearby supermarkets and our weekly Barossa Farmers' Market where you can buy supplies. And of course there will be a complimentary bottle of Whistler Wine!
Guests will also be able to purchase our family wines from the Cellar Door with a special discount of 20% while enjoying a free wine tasting experience.

Our Retreat is on the most scenic road in the Barossa with 15 wineries to discover, including the historic Seppeltsfield Winery. An exciting new addition, within walking distance, is the new Seppeltsfield Road Distillers where you can enjoy handcrafted gin on their stunning deck. We have world-class restaurants within a 5 minute drive - Appellation, Fino and Hentley Farm. Our neighbours are the famous Maggie Beer Farmshop and Eatery. The work of top SA artists can be seen at the JamFactory gallery and artisan workshops. Other coffee shops, galleries and excellent shopping can be found at the 3 main towns, all within 5km from our home. The first stage of the new Seppeltsfield Road shared path trail runs through our property. The Barossa also has other bike trails.

I'm a born and bred, proud Barossan. Married to Martin for 44 years we have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. 30 years of teaching has kept me young at heart. I love meeting people while working at our cellar door and I'm very involved in the local community. I'm known as 'the Green Queen', somewhat obsessed with recycling and caring for the environment. I'm an animal and nature-lover, loving life on our beautiful property and happy to share it with others.
