Welcome to my Melbourne City Design Oasis!
Award winning architecturally designed apartment in a historic building located on Melbourne's most exciting and dynamic laneway. Built in 1898, the building is one of Melbourne's most well known and loved heritage buildings. The spacious 70sqm apartment has one bedroom, one bathroom with bath, modern kitchen and a japanese-style mezzanine sitting room. The apartment will suit couples, singles and also families. There is a separate nursery with cot if required.
The space is creative and inspirational. It features very high ceilings, huge northerly facing arched windows on all sides of the apartment and a decent sized balcony with bbq. It is filled with natural light and streaming sunshine. Every detail has been considered - miele appliances, super fast WIFI, very comfy queen bed with lovely linen, concealed dishwasher and fridge, deep bath, a great selection of design and architecture books, tivoli sound system, Flat screen TV, brilliant heating and scandinavian furniture and design objects. This is the perfect base to return to after your inner city adventures.
The apartment is the most central you will find. Located on Flinders Lane and short walking distance to all of Melbourne's best restaurants, cafes, shops, markets, laneways and galleries including Chin Chin, Nama-Nama, Dukes Coffee Roasters, Little King, Queen Victoria Market, Huxtaburger, Cumulus Inc, Shebeen Bar, Hihou, Tonka, Coda, Movida, NGV, ACMI, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Anna Schwatz Gallery, Izakaya Den, Aesop, Zambesi, Incu, Hamer Hall, Arts Centre, Degraves laneway and Centre Place. There are train and tram stops just out the front connecting you to all parts of Melbourne - east, west, north and south including Fitzroy, Nth Melbourne, Brunswick, South Yarra, Prahran and St Kilda. The apartment is also perfectly situated between many of Melbourne's most beautiful parks including Birrarung Marr, Fitzroy and Treasury Gardens, Alexandria Gardens, Botanical Gardens, North and South bank and the Yarra River.
Sensitive sleepers take note: Due to the central location there is some city / street noise during the day and night.
This is Melbourne living at its best.

Dan's home was an absolute delight to stay in - a clever, functional space that made our short, impromptu trip to Melbourne totally worth it! Communication and access was super easy - a perfectly positioned oasis (as described). We indulged in peanut butter parfait from a nearby restaurant (as recommended by Dan) more than once. Thanks again! Bill
The apartment is phenomenal! The host also provide a very detailed list of really awesome cafes and dining places! Being a first timer, I feel this location is really convenient to go almost anywhere! I'm like in the middle of the most amazing, awe-inspiring and pleasure-filled environment! Even though I have not met the host, Dan, I still sincerely want to thank you for having us in ur apartment. Appreciated much!
Dan's apt. was a great place to end our Melbourne trip. Right in the city, the location can't really be beat for CBD area apts. Dan was an exceptional host and the apt was superb, clean and well appointed. Communication with Dan was always easy and information and directions for the apt. were easy and concise. Would love to come back.
Great location and apartment. We couldn't be any more central and it was a great base to explore the City. I'd highly recommend staying here if your looking to be immersed in the hustle and bustle of Melbourne life. With that comes the constant hum of City life (which we like), so be prepared to hear the odd busker, bin collector and revellers. The apartment is tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable, clearly Dan has an eye for design. Dan provided us with clear instructions and provided a list of restaurants/coffee shops that we tried and thought were amazing, its always great to get that inside knowledge from a local.
We had a fantastic weekend in Dan's apartment. We we were a bit apprehensive as it was our first airbnb stay, but I think this was about as good as it gets. This is the best area in Melbourne, regardless of whether you are there for work, culture, shopping or dining, and one of the best little apartments.
Access was easy, instructions were clear, the local tips were handy (even for someone who is a regular visitor) and the apartment was very well presented.
Note that it can be lively at night (but not that late and it is why you want to be here), and you can get unlucky with service deliveries and collection some mornings. While there is no AC, the abundance of windows makes it unnecessary.
Such a beautiful space! The location is great. Dan is really helpful too and instructions are very clear. Couldn't be happier!
Dans gorgeous home is the perfect mix of New York and Paris…. Every singe detail is exquisite and well considered… In the middle of a huge creative job in Melbourne it was the perfect escape between shifts… I found it to be whisper quiet given the proximity to everything Melbourne has to offer in walking distance… Dan was so easy to communicate with (even tho she was in another time zone) and the key system was a breeze…
Loved the windows all the way around and the cubby bedroom….
It was certainly hard to leave and I hope to be back next imd I'm in town…. Thanks Dan :)
