Balmoral Homestead (1930) and ‘The Quarters’ are set amongst 170 acres of working cattle properties.

‘The Quarters’ is your home away from home. It is a comfortable, spacious and peaceful place to stay. Sit back and enjoy the unsurpassed views of ancient volcanic mountains, grassy hills and rainforest lined valleys.

Relax while listening to the sounds that such a wonderful rural environment provides or head out to explore the amazing attractions this region offers.

The space
The Quarters’ is located approximately 50m from Balmoral Homestead and offers a spacious open plan living area with lounge facilities and an eating area in addition to a full kitchen (here you will find a cleaning care package with approved sanitising cleaning products for you to use during your stay).

There is a separate queen bedroom (with a comfortable Posture Perfect mattress) and separate bright and airy bathroom.

Enjoy your own exclusive entrance onto a large and private undercover deck with expansive countryside views. A rustic drinks bar (handcrafted from local Cooroy timber) and an outdoor table/chairs setting are provided for your use.

A large selection of books, movies and board games are available for those occasional rainy days when you do not want to venture outdoors. It's also a great time to sit back, relax and enjoy the mist covered hills and valleys.

I have created a comprehensive guide for our guests to enjoy with details of places to visit, eat and enjoy in Cooroy and the surrounding regions. Previous guests have said my guide has been invaluable!

We are also proud to be part of the Land for Wildlife program and are fortunate enough to have the vulnerably declared Tusked Frog and Cascade Tree Frog species on our property that we are assisting to protect. Our rainforest gully is currently being rehabilitated and is available for guests to enjoy walking through.

Guest access
One of our favourite places on the property is the orchid. Sit back in the late afternoon with some fine Kenilworth cheese and a glass of wine while you watch the sky change colours as the sun sets. Or venture out after dark to catch some shooting stars while you enjoy the expansive Milky Way overhead.

Other things to note
‘The Quarters’ was first built to accommodate the previous owner and his wife while the subdivision of the original farmland took place.

Balmoral Homestead is a working farm and as such, from time to time we may be carrying out farm duties on the paddocks near the house. We have 2 wonderful farm dogs that may come over to say hello, however, they are not permitted inside ‘The Quarters’ at any time.

Car parking is provided for 1 vehicle only.

Due to the plumbing layout the shower has a step into it of approximately 200mm.

Although steep, our driveway is concrete and offers access in all types of weather.

My name is Tanya and along with my husband and 2 children, decided back in 2012 that we wanted a major lifestyle change - moving from inner Brisbane to the wonderful Sunshine Coast hinterland town of Cooroy. We have never regretted the move and love our town, the community and surrounding country. I have embraced our country life and have taken on several volunteer roles in the local community since moving here. I have a background predominantly within the travel sector, having worked for a major airline for many years. My family and I have enjoyed travelling extensively throughout Australia and overseas and we all look forward to many more adventures in the coming years. I am a keen amateur photographer, I adore the serenity of country life, I have a passion for cooking, Iove our hinterland cafes and spending time with our family and friends. With my 2 children now firmly entrenched in their school years, hosting an Airbnb is a wonderful opportunity to share our beautiful slice of the world with others.
