We had a very nice and relaxing stay at La Rassada. The barn has been tastefully renovated and the look to the mountains - and up to the stars - is amazing. The place is great for starting excursions and the way to the beach also is not too far. We stayed there with a thirteen year old teenager and a dog and all of us felt very comfortable. Philippa is a wonderful host and helped us with many tips. We also had quite a lot of fun with her. Unfortunately, this time we missed the eagle owl. Maybe next time! :-) This is how airbnb should be!

Thank you so much for your kind review Dagmar! I am very lucky to host such lovely guests :-) Next time I promise we will go and see the Eagle owl... but better to come in the spring for that. A la prochaine !

Phillipa is a fantastic host and we had a lovely time staying at her delightful home. The optional evening welcome meal was lovely, as were the hearty and healthy breakfasts using local produce. She made us feel really at home during our stay. The cottage is very comfortable and fitted out very tastefully to a high standard and had everything we wanted for a relaxing stay including wifi for our ipod mad daughter. We would definelty stay with Phillipa again and would definitely.recommend this accommodation to others.

We had the most wonderful of stays at Philippa's "La Rassada”. Straight away she made us feel warm, welcome and made sure we settled in comfortably. The house (a converted stone barn) on the edge of the quaint wine making village of Feuilla set the scene for a perfect holiday stay near the beach. Philippa provided us with terrific insider knowledge of the area on a daily basis and we enjoyed our delicious breakfasts (all local produce!) every morning on the deck (seen in photos), which provided a delightful breakfast view. The house has character, charm and boasts a large kitchen/dining area. It was a pleasure not only to stay in this beautiful eco b&b, but also to meet the kind hearted, extremely interesting - Phillipa :) Whether you are looking for a beach, walking, cycling, birdwatching or sightseeing holiday in the Languedoc region - La Rassada eco b&b is the perfect choice! We hope to return in the near future.

Thank you Stephanie :-) I get such pleasure out of sharing this wonderful area with guests who seem to understand its unique qualities! I enjoyed our chats and having you both to stay and look forward to having back sometime soon.

As Philippa explains all over her listing, this is not an entire apartment but a listing for a two-room B&B where she does not rent the two rooms separately. (If you rent only one room, the other stays empty while you're there.) My friend, her dog, and I had a fabulous time with Philippa. She is an experienced B&B host--welcoming, easy-going, helpful, and a pleasure to be around. Her place was very comfortable, lacking nothing I hope for in an Airbnb accommodation.

Thanks Michael for your kind review. I take your point about a sign and will try and get around to installing the beautiful hand made ceramic tile with the name of the house (La Rassada)! I enjoyed having you all to stay :-)

Philippa was a very warm and welcoming host. Her house is beautiful and full of clever interesting touches and everything is there that you need to make your stay all the more enjoyable. Going to the beach? Here's a parasol and some beach mats, mosi's biting? Theres some insect repellant for you in the bathroom....I mean this is already enough for us...but then every morning when you wake you wander out onto the deck surrounded by vineyards to enjoy the most beautiful breakfast...all from locally sourced (URL HIDDEN) you can tell we loved our stay and I haven't even mentioned the party that we went to hosted by one of the other vineyards....our stay was soooo good. We will definitely be returning one day and highly recommend Philippa and her beautiful home.

We had a fantastic few days at Philippa's "La Rassada". It was the perfect getaway! Philippa is the loveliest host and she made us feel very welcome in her beautiful home. She's a very interesting and open person and it is really fantastic to see how much she's aware of the all the live and the stunning nature that surrounds "La Rassada". She happily helped us with the planning of our (half ;) day trips, provided us with very helpful recommendations and even took care of inquiries and bookings for us. We're very much looking forward to returning very soon!

My husband and new baby had such a lovely time with Philippa in her perfectly located Bnb. We wanted a true French experience without all the touristy hustle and bussle. We found it at La Rassada. Not only did Philippa provide a warm environment for my family and (at the time) 3 month old, but she responded to our every need. Whether that be with fun things to do just outside the area, to private wine tastings with the local wine-maker. She also recommended a beautiful Abby (The Abby at Fontroide), which is a must-see. The beds were comfortable and the room was quaint. Bathroom in two steps from bedroom door. Even though we were in close proximity to Philippa's private room, we had complete privacy. One night we knew we'd be out late, and not being familiar with the area Philippa brought us home a meal with tasty cheese and bread, which we all shared on her deck overlooking the rolling hills. This place is exactly what we wanted. Can't say enough wonderful things about Philippa. Our baby was very comfortable there too!!

I'm an active late 50's, with a passion for the outdoors and nature.
Friendly and outgoing, I love sharing this beautiful area with other nature lovers, helping people make the most of their holidays by providing local advice and maps.
Converting my lovely old barn into a modern home using eco-friendly construction and design was a lot of fun as well as challenging - but I get such pleasure out of knowing that whilst modern and comfortable, La Rassada's environmental impact is much reduced. That doesn't mean I don't like my creature comforts - although I have never got around to getting a TV!!!
Born and brought up in the UK, I also lived in Paris and New Zealand before ending up in the tranquil village of Feuilla, near the Languedoc coast, in the South of France. I also have a small base in the north of England.
I have been lucky to travel extensively in and around Europe, the US, South America and more recently southern Africa... and particularly enjoy meeting other people who have travelled!
