Enjoy the simplicity of our hand crafted Mongolian yurts! The yurts are located on our property with on one side a lake and on the other side the forest. You can sleep in the yurt with up to 3 adults (we can add beds for kids). In summer and winter, you keep it warm and cosy by making a fire in the wood burning stove. The service house with kitchen, toilet, shower, lounge and dining area is about 50 m. away from the yurts.

The space
Staying in a yurt is a pure experience, whatever the weather. It is the perfect way to relax. A yurt holiday is a choice for an experience, an adventure and the feeling of being part of something special…whether it’s for a weekend or midweek break, a week or a longer holiday.
Being together in a round space has a profound effect on people. We know this from experience and our guests also describe this feeling.

Thanks to the thick layer of felt insulation, the yurt remains lovely and cool in the spring and summer and warm in the fall and winter.

Collecting wood, making a fire, collecting water and enjoying life!

Experiencing the satisfaction, enjoying the sense of peace that these activities bring, sitting together around the wood stove, telling stories, communicating with each other. Listening to the wind and the rain on the roof…one more log on the fire…would you like a cup of tea or shall we open a bottle of wine?

A yurt holiday is suitable for everyone who is happy at heart and young in spirit. Staying in a yurt stands for ‘quality time’, something which is often scarce in modern life. The area offers beautiful nature and peaceful surroundings and simply spending time together in the yurt is always worthwhile.

The site is great for children. They can play outdoors for hours on end, explore the woods, jump on the trampoline, play ball on the basketball court, take the canoe out and enjoy swimming in the lake.

Guest access
The service cabin is a shared area with other guests. You can use the kitchen and fridge/freezer in the the cabin for all your cooking needs. The bathroom in the cabin has a toilet and shower. This summer we will also put up outhouses (outdoor compost toilets) closer to the yurts. The cabin also has a big dining table and a lounge area with a cosy fireplace.

Other things to note
When you come to stay with us in the winter (october-april) make sure you bring proper winter clothing! It is no problem keeping it nice and warm in the yurt even if it is -30*C outside. Walking outside in -30*C is very nice with the proper clothing. Think long underwear (preferably wool), ski clothing, wool socks, gloves, a hat and winter boots.
The summer in the north of Sweden can be all over the place... It can be sunny out and 30*C or it can be 10*C and raining. So in the summer months (may-sept.) bring shorts but also a sweater ;)

Our property is situated along a dead end gravel road. Along the road are mainly summer cabins and only 3 houses are lived in all year round (incl. us) It is very quiet here and in the winter very dark. (great for looking at the stars, milky-way and the Northern Lights!!)

Welcome to Lapland Yurts! My name is Marie-José and I am originally from the Netherlands. I moved to the north of Sweden in 2013 and live together with Per, our 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 pet pigs and 2 roosters :) We love outdoor activities which of course vary a lot depending on the season. In the winter our favourite activities are snowboarding and snowmobiling in the mountains. In the summer we love to go hiking with our dogs and enjoy outdoor living in the 24-hour daylight. We built a guest cabin with sauna on our property back in 2014 mainly for friends and family to come and visit from Holland, but after their enthusiasm about the place we decided to put up a listing on Airbnb for other people to enjoy it as well. We love hosting and meeting people from all over the world! so we decided to add traditional Mongolian yurts to our property. We purchased our neighbour's cabin that now serves as a service house to the yurts. We are looking forward to meeting you!
