The Shepherd's Cottage is located on a vineyard and sheep farm called Lisdillon. The stone cottage was built by the convicts in the 1800s and has stunning views of Lisdillon rivulet. The private beach is only a two minute stroll away. Included is a free tasting of our internationally award winning wine.

The space
The Shepherd’s Cottage is a two storey, rubble stone building which was built in the early to mid 1800s.
The ground floor comprises kitchen, bathroom and living/dining area. The living room includes a wood fire and floor to ceiling windows which overlook the river and feature a view of the private beach two minutes’ walk away. Books, games and puzzles are supplied as well as a television which includes a USB port so that you can bring and watch your own programs. The modern bathroom, with easy access shower, has a large window with a view of the beach. The fully equipped kitchen has a gas stove, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine.
Upstairs is a spacious bedroom with king sized bed. Please note that, as with most cottages of the period, the staircase is steep and unsuitable for people with mobility issues.

Located 21 kilometres from Swansea and set amongst farm land and vineyards, the Shepherd's is the perfect setting for family holidays and cosy weekends away. Enjoy leisurely walks on the beach, try your luck fishing in the river or simply relax in the sun with a book, breathing in the fresh country air. Alternatively, take advantage of nearby attractions including East Coast wineries, Coles Bay and Freycinet National Park (1hr drive) and Maria Island ferry (25min drive).

Please note that though locals drink the water (it is clean), we do advise that guests bring their own drinking water.

Perfect for a relaxed weekend away - try some of Lisdillon's delicious pinot noir or sauvginon blanc!

Lisdillon is a 6000 acre working sheep farm and vineyard. Its title includes three white, sandy beaches to low water mark, as well as the reef off the main beach. It also includes a rivulet with swimming/fishing holes, an estuary perfect for fishing and amazing views of The Hazzards and Freycinet National Park, and of Maria Island. Lisdillon itself is described by many of our guests as being perhaps the most beautiful place they have seen on their visit to Australia.

With all this space, Lisdillon is the perfect place to go walking, swimming or fishing. Bring your kayaks and explore the river and coastline or bring your boat and launch it from the beach or from the MaST recommended boat ramp five minutes away. Perhaps you would prefer to just relax in the sun in the garden, or in the comfortable lounge room in front of the fire, and read the books or play the games that are provided - and perhaps enjoy a glass of Lisdillon's own award winning wine. Or if you enjoy cooking, make the most of the fully equipped kitchen!
