The Nook is a cosy home-from-home in the historic heart of old Settle. This quirky cottage benefits from an open plan living-dining room with far reaching views. The property is light, bright, and well equipped. The spacious kitchen, wood burner in the living room, and limestone underfloor heating in the bathroom add up to give the place a homely feel. It is perfect for couples and a great base from which to explore Settle and the Yorkshire Dales. Boots and wellies welcome!

The space
IMPORTANT:
Please review our House Rules carefully before booking.

All the rooms in our cottage are on one level and there is level access from the street with no stairs. Its position and location means that from the bedroom and living area you are afforded wonderful, far-reaching views from high up over Settle and the surrounding countryside. There is hardwood oak flooring throughout with rugs placed to maximise the cosiness.

THE LIVING ROOM: A traditional wood-burner lies at the heart of the property. It is easy to light and manage, and from November through to February a fire kit is supplied to get you started (kiln-dried logs can be purchased locally from Booths supermarket). For your entertainment there is a Smart TV with access to Netflix and BBC iPlayer, and a bookcase full of books and board games. Free WiFi is available. In the living room area there is a dining table which seats up to four people.

THE KITCHEN: perfect for a short stay, the kitchen has an electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge with freezer compartment. We don't have a washing machine as there is a launderette located within 50m of the property. We provide tea, coffee and basic condiments. The property is professionally cleaned after every guest and all the bed linen, towels, bath-mats and tea towels are refreshed. In addition to this we provide hand soap, bubble bath and washing up liquid.

THE BEDROOM: has countryside views, a comfortable double bed, bedside tables with lamps, and a double wardrobe which provides plenty of storage.

THE BATHROOM: benefits from a bath with shower attachment, limestone tiled underfloor heating, a heated towel rail and an illuminated mirror with electric shaving point. Please note we are not providing cooking oil or milk at present.

Guest access
Guests can enjoy full access to the entire property.

Other things to note
PARKING: the property is located on a narrow road in the historic heart of Settle. It is not possible to park immediately outside the cottage, however there are usually parking spaces within a 20-30 metre walk. At particularly busy periods you may find spaces limited. If this is the case then we recommend dropping off your luggage at the property then making use use of Greenfoot public car park (a 2 minute walk away), where your vehicle can be left there for prolonged periods. We provide a luggage trolley at the property for your use. More details are provided in the guest information folder

I am a fit and active husband and Dad. I love to travel and explore, in both the countryside and the city. I am happiest when with my family and friends. I spend a lot of time on my feet running and walking and an equal amount of time on the saddle of my bike. I always prefer to be outside than in. I am a curious person with a restless but active mind. I enjoy reading and cooking and gardening and skiing and sailing and nature and much much more....
