The space
Our home :Old Greenwells" is an historic homestead overlooking the Apsley Valley and set in 13 acres of prime grazing country.
The accommodation on offer is within the homestead, with its own parking area and entrance , so it is very private.
Centrally heated and furnished in chic country style, fine linen, antique furniture and family paintings.
The accommodation has access to the surrounding gardens and the owners paddocks . ( courtesy the owner) .
We provide a substantial 2 course dinner on request in your own room or in our dining room . Country cooking and wine at a competitive price. We must have 24 hours notice and any dietary requirements .
We are located 3km south of Walcha - an historic town on the New England Tablelands of NSW - the centre of fine-wool growing in Australia and with easy access to surrounding World Heritage National Parks.
You could walk to town, or drive and visit the galleries or the Heritage Museum, supermarkets, medical facilities, wonderful gift and clothing shops, the famous sculpture and river walk, friendly welcoming locals and genuine country life.
Walcha is about 3/4 hour from Armidale , over 1 hour from Tamworth and 1 hr 30 mins from Gloucester and 2 hours from Port Macquarie.
We offer peace, privacy and little extras to make your stay comfortable and welcoming. Bill and I are very outgoing, committed and hands-on hosts who love "Old Greenwells" and the New England.

Parking in Walcha is easy and convenient to supermarkets, chemist and shops in general.
There is a wonderful and friendly Information Centre open 7 days
.
The House Manual showcases local activities, nearby towns, National Park areas and walks etc.

ACCOMMODTION IS COUNTRY STYLE, PRIVATE, SPACIOUS AND COMFORTABLE

Accommodation includes linen, kitchen utensils and wifi.
Breakfast is included in the price. Generous-sized Continental Breakfast includes cereals and homemade museli, fresh homemade bread , cheese, farm eggs (microwave) condiments, tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc.
There is a fridge, microwave and portable cooktop, toaster , coffee-pod machine and sink.
We provide dinner on request and is reasonably priced ( need 24 hours notice please. )
2 courses, all homecooked /bottle of wine included.
The shower in the Ensuite is within the bath. We do provide a 2nd bathroom with a separate shower if easier and for the twinroom.
Septic system -dam water.
Shower, bath and drinking water is rain-water.
The responsible use of water is greatly appreciated.
Cot with linen, Change Table - available on request.

Our neighbourhood is so inclusive and the nearby farms and town are all fairly closeby. The area is famous for it's fine wool, artists, cool-climate gardens, local crafts and the many tourists attractions such as the beautiful National Parks and Waterfalls which are World Heritage areas.
