Welcome to my home, an original 1800s blacksmith’s cottage on Western Ave with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and picturesque grounds. Hepburn and Daylesford town centres are a short distance, or take to the nearby bushwalking tracks and explore the beautiful countryside.

The house features queen beds, sun-drenched deck, wi-fi, heating, air-conditioning, fireplace, bathtub and shower, organic bathroom products, fully-appointed kitchen, record player and vinyl, bluetooth music speaker and board games.

The space
The cottage is set on 3/4 acre of luscious gardens featuring stone fruit, apple, pear and plum trees. Families of kangaroos visit morning and night, colourful birdlife sing from the treetops, and echidna snuffle around in the dirt.

Each week the landscape takes on a different hue. In summer the grass is dry and crackles under foot; in autumn the leaves turn amber and orange and flame red. By winter the trees are bare and you awake to icy cold frost. When spring turns up, young green leaves and white and pink blossom light up the trees.

The house is a relaxing spot to nestle in with a book and some wine, or use it as a landing pad from which to explore the region – Glenlyon, Trentham, Kyneton, Castlemaine, Macedon, Harcourt, Maldon and Clunes are easy day trips for shopping, wine tasting and sightseeing.

Guest access
You'll have full access to the house and garden, including off-street parking. Please note that the house is not fenced, so keep an eye on your furry babies.

Other things to note
The weather in Hepburn Springs can vary a lot from week to week. It can snow in winter, and summer can reach the 40s (though there have been days in mid-summer that only max out at 10 degrees – it's a bit weird like that). Please check the weather reports and pack appropriate clothing.

Be particularly careful when driving along the country roads. Kangaroos can take you by surprise, and in the winter black ice is prevalent in the high country. Most pubs offer courtesy buses and there's a local taxi company.

I’m an Airbnb host and an avid traveller. My ideal weekend would include walks, talks, good food, wine and vinyl. I grew up in the country, left for the city, and this cottage drew me back to my roots. It's basic (no TV, no microwave, has "rustic charm"), but it's cosy, comfortable and a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's a pleasure to share my place with other people.
