Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Welcome to Mylor Farm, a much-loved 15-acre Adelaide Hills escape just 25 minutes from the city. Stay in a beautifully restored 1850s stone cottage surrounded by gardens, orchard, creek and open space. Children love the chickens, secret garden and tree fort, while adults enjoy the peace, wildlife, fresh air and nearby cafés and wineries. It’s a place to slow down, spend time outdoors, and enjoy relaxed country living together.

The space
You’ll have the cottage and surrounding gardens to yourselves, with plenty of space to relax, explore and settle in at your own pace. The layout works particularly well for families and longer stays, offering privacy, easy flow between rooms, and a close connection to the outdoors.

The Cottage
With its thick stone walls, the cottage stays naturally cool through most summer days and cosy in winter. Inside, it feels relaxed and welcoming - stylish without ever feeling formal. There’s a comfortable living area with a fireplace for cooler months, and reverse-cycle air conditioning available if warmer weather lingers.

The kitchen is well set up for everyday cooking and family meals, and the dining area is perfect for long, unhurried chats. The bathroom includes a deep bath as well as a separate shower - ideal after a day outdoors.

Sleeping arrangements
The cottage suits families, couples and small groups, with three comfortable bedrooms:
Bedroom 1: Queen bed
Bedroom 2: Twin single beds (great for kids or friends)
Bedroom 3: Queen bed

Quiet nights, quality linen and fresh Hills air mean most guests sleep very well here.

Gardens, animals & outdoor life
Much of the time at Mylor Farm is spent outdoors. Guests are welcome to wander through the fruit orchard, vegetable and herb gardens, and cut-flower beds, follow Cox Creek as it winds through the property, or discover the secret garden and tree fort that children absolutely love.

The chickens and their coop are a daily highlight for younger guests, and many families treasure visiting our private rescue and orphaned kangaroo sanctuary. Native birds are everywhere, and koalas are often spotted nearby.

Many families return to Mylor Farm again and again over the years, often bringing children back as they grow. For some, it’s become a little family tradition.

Guest access
You’ll have the cottage and grounds to yourselves, with easy self check-in via a keypad lock. Each stay is provided with a unique access code, so you can arrive at a time that suits you.

Guests are very welcome to enjoy the farm during their stay:
• Pick fruit from the orchard when it’s in season
• Gather vegetables and herbs to cook and enjoy
• Cut fresh flowers for the cottage
• Collect eggs from the chickens when available

You’re also welcome to use pantry items for everyday cooking.

Our gardeners are usually on site on Tuesdays to care for the gardens. They work quietly in the background, don’t need access to the cottage, and always try to give guests plenty of space. They’re friendly and happy for a chat if you feel like one.

Other things to note
Mylor Farm is a genuine Adelaide Hills farm stay, and a little common-sense preparation helps everyone enjoy it comfortably.

The Hills can be cool, particularly in the mornings and evenings, so warm layers and sensible footwear are a good idea.

In summer, as with anywhere in the Adelaide Hills, it’s wise to keep a mobile phone with you and to be staying with someone who can drive if needed. We follow local advice closely and will always keep guests informed if conditions change.

Children should be supervised while exploring the property, especially around animals, the creek and natural areas. We encourage parents to chat with children about farm safety, including awareness of wildlife such as snakes, which are part of the natural environment here.

Mylor Farm uses bore water throughout the property. For peace of mind, we provide fresh spring drinking water in the cottage for drinking and cooking.
