The space
Welcome to Alkira Glamping, where slowing down comes naturally.
Tucked away on our beautiful 40 acre farm in the Dandenong Ranges, the Yurt is the perfect place to switch off, breathe in the fresh country air and enjoy a few days doing... absolutely nothing if that's what you need.
Whether you are celebrating something special, planning a romantic getaway or simply escaping the city, we hope you will leave feeling relaxed, refreshed and already planning your next visit.
Built from straw bales, the Yurt has a charm all of its own. It stays lovely and warm through winter and naturally cool in summer, making it a cosy escape all year round.
We have filled it with warm lighting, comfy furnishings and thoughtful little touches to help you feel at home the moment you arrive.
Wake up to rolling hills, spectacular sunrises and the sounds of birds instead of traffic. Spend your evenings around the fire pit with a glass of wine, then fall asleep under the stars in complete peace and quiet.
This is adults only glamping, designed for slowing down and reconnecting.
Inside you'll find a comfortable queen bed, while outside you'll have your own outdoor seating area and a kitchenette with a BBQ, mini fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery and everything you need for a relaxed stay. We also provide tea, coffee and a LIGHT continental breakfast including cereal, yoghurt and toast to make your first morning easy.
The bathroom amenities are a short stroll from the Yurt and include an amazing rain shower, flushing toilet and vanity.
If you would like to make your stay even more special, we can organise beautiful picnic hampers filled with local goodies, relaxing in house massages and even evening animal feeding experiences with Andrew.
These extras are very popular, so we recommend booking them before you arrive.
One of the things our guests love most about Alkira is meeting our friendly farm animals. You'll see horses, alpacas, cows, geese and, if you're lucky, our resident wombat and wallaby making an appearance. You are welcome to say hello from outside the paddocks.
Although you'll feel like you're a world away, we're only 10 minutes from Emerald, home of the famous Puffing Billy Railway. You'll also find fantastic cafes, restaurants, wineries, walking trails and plenty of local shops nearby, making Alkira the perfect base to explore the beautiful Dandenong Ranges.
If the Yurt is booked for your dates, don't forget to check out our other two unique stays, The Cabin and The Safari. Each has its own special charm and offers a completely different experience. www alkiraglamping com.
You can also follow our journey @ alkiraglamping. We can't wait to welcome you to Alkira and hope you fall in love with it as much as we have.
