The space
The home of a local writer and her husband is a great place to relax for business travellers, or a great base from which to explore Melbourne’s secrets. The room has a lovely feel, and an easy sense of quiet and calm. At one end is a small kitchenette, with microwave and electric frypan for light cooking, a sink and small fridge—with an ice tray! A separate bathroom has a bath and shower, and a lovely sunny skylight. A garden seat offers a quiet sunny sit.

Proximity to everything is the bonus of this location.
Port Melbourne is a historic suburb, the oldest in Melbourne, in fact, as it was the place of the earliest settler arrivals in 1835. It’s made of heritage homes, workers’ cottages and colonial civic buildings. As a beachside harbour, it has a great beach, fascinating pier and wharf activities, with ships coming and going, and many beachside attractions. The CBD is only minutes away by taxi, bus or tram, so we’re close to all the action, without the noise and disturbances. From this location, you are basically 10 minutes from everything: The CBD, the beach, the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, Port Melbourne Shopping centre, City Luxury shopping, Crown Casino, National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), Melbourne Theatre Company (MTC) and the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA)… and even the Westgate Bridge, that will take you to the Great Ocean Road.
