The queen sized bed is very comfortable and tucked away on one side of the loft so you have some feeling of separation between the sleeping area and the living area. The loft features unique architecture and design with several nooks each with a special purpose.

Our 635 sq. ft. private upstairs loft is welcoming, comfy & spacious and is tucked away on a tranquil & beautiful 5 acres above a detached garage completely separate from our home. You can enjoy with 2 private decks (one 3rd story that's great for star gazing!). Our neighborhood is literally next door the The Hyatt Lost Pines resort which is 5 minutes from our home. Close to Austin yet far enough away, enjoy the best of both worlds!

The space

Welcome to The Lost Pines Loft. A cool and hip detached and private spot that has offerings for everyone. We designed this apartment above our detached garage so our parents would have a nice place to stay when they came to visit. So we made it really nice and comfortable so they would stay a while! During holidays our family members fight over who gets to stay there, so I think that says something about it! The entire space was recently measured at 635 square feet and feels larger than the photos might suggest. There is a queen size bed and a comfy sleeper sofa if your needs require a 2nd bed. Rounding things out is a sizable closet and separate bathroom with shower. The apartment is actually above our detached garage, so you're upstairs and both of your patios face away from our home offer plenty of privacy and nobody is below you. Our guests often say it's a "great way to get away when needed still a quick trip to the city of Austin or Bastrop if so desired."

Guest access

Guests have access to their own private loft apartment, complete with 1 Queen bed and a sofa w/ fold out full size sleeper mattress. Sleeps 1-4.

Interaction with guests

Outside of our initial meeting, we will typically leave you be for the rest of your stay, while at the same time enjoying some small talk from time to time in passing, which is one of the things that does make Airbnb unique. We typically communicate with guests as needed easily via text messaging or phone. Our goal is to make sure you are enjoying your stay but otherwise the Loft and both decks are yours. We have a swing set and trampoline and if you have children they are welcome to use them. Our children are airbnb pros now, but they are often curious about "our guests" and they like saying hello and lifting the veil of curiosity just a bit if the circumstances allow it, which so far I think everyone has enjoyed.

Other things to note

We are approximately 15 minutes from COTA and the F1 track and 360 Amphitheater. Bastrop is 15 minutes away and offers a host of things to do. We're "Far Out" yet you can still be to downtown Austin in approximately 25 minutes and sample all that The Live Music Capital of the world has to offer, numerous restaurants, of do any of the myriad of things the big city has to offer.

We like to leave our guests some complimentary snacks and easy breakfast options as, other than the Hyatt, our nearby restaurant options are rather limited (unless you want BBQ or breakfast tacos). We have a mini-fridge and a microwave so feel free to bring some provisions yourself in case you check in and you don't want to leave!

We also have a water cooler, coffee maker, coffee, etc.

Tommy and Roxanne's loft was perfect for my wife, four year old, one year old and I. --Cozy and clean, private, and incredibly easy access to the triathlon route at Hyatt Lost Pines. Thanks a bunch for a smooth stay in a lovely, rural setting on the outskirts of Austin.

My boyfriend Daniel and I were getting fed up with being trapped in the city of Houston and needed a getaway in the place we call home - the Hill Country! We found Tommy and Roxanne's place on AirBNB and knew it's where we needed to get away! The loft was spacious but cozy, stocked with everything we needed, and in an amazing, beautiful location. We really enjoyed the deck above the loft - perfect for stargazing and listening to the sounds of the Hill Country! Tommy was very welcoming and kind. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Despite mathematical evidence to the contrary, we tend not to believe in coincidences. In fact Tommy can be credited with coining the phrase: "Coincidences are just God's way of being a little more obvious." Whatever you believe, coincidences are cool and fun by any standard. Hosting with Airbnb has proven to be a great venue to meet people that can in many ways enrich our lives, and so often can lead to coincidental surprises that are appreciated by host and guest alike .

You never know who you will meet, and you may only be one guest away from a conversation that can be informative, inspiring, or both. Having such a coincidental lottery, that "pays you" as well as pays you for your efforts, is likely a key element and driving force behind the enormous success of this venue, and something that we have certainly come to appreciate.

On the flip side often times our guests are very busy and we see very little of them. But regardless of how little or how often our paths may cross, we strive to ensure that everyone benefits from the Airbnb arrangement that provides our guests with a entirely unique place to stay while we end up with some extra grocery money to try to keep up with the growing appetites of our two growing boys!

As for us, we are soul mates who were meant to find each other so we could then move out to the beautiful countryside just outside of Austin to raise our family. So, if the stars should align in such a fashion, then you could meet us and spend a little time hopefully enjoying our cool and unique little hideout during your travels, which we and many previous guests believe is much better than a standard run of the mill hotel room.

We love spending time outdoors, fishing, hiking, and are both huge music lovers. Tommy is a real estate broker and in his spare time loves to rock out in the Live Music Capital of the World with his 90's rock cover band. Roxanne recently retired from a career as an elementary school teacher and is currently searching for what's next.

We met in Austin at the 503 coffee bar where Tommy was a college graduate working for minimum wage plus tips and Roxanne was a lover of the ever-so popular non-fat mocha latte, hold the whip. Our story is a good one; life is a journey, and we enjoy meeting new people and are very fortunate that we own a property that is spacious enough for us to allow others to stay with us while still maintaining a level of privacy that we believe is just right for both our family and our guests.

Alas, thank you for reading a bit about us. Should you decide to stay with us we will look forward to reading some of your story and meeting you and if you choose The Lost Pines Loft for you stay, we will do our best to ensure that you have a wonderful stay and feel welcome at our home.
