The space
This cozy historic mill house at the end of a dead-end street has a high ceilings, original woodwork and a spacious backyard with a deck with an outdoor shower (warmer months only). From the front to the back, you'll find this place offers amazing privacy and beautiful views just minutes from downtown Asheville.

If you're bringing your pup(s), we have blankets, dog beds, treats and more. We also keep an adjustable dog crate in the house if you want to use it.

As you might imagine, we host far more dogs than cats but we love cats and have a "glaring" of our own. =^•^= If you're bringing your cat(s), please just let us know so we can make sure to leave a litter box/supplies, and cat treats and toys for you.

Guest access
You'll have access to the entire house, deck, porch, yard, and garden.

Other things to note
The bathroom is accessed via the bedroom.

The back deck can be accessed via the bathroom, garden gate, or front yard gate.

The second bed ( full-size sofa bed ) is located in the living room.

Our neighborhood, known as Martel Village, bears the name of the early 20th century textile mill that was just a few blocks away at the bottom of Elk Mountain Rd on the French Broad River. The mill provided employment opportunities for area residents, and, like many neighborhoods in Woodfin, most families have lived here for more than a few generations. Our home, and others that survive, are characteristic of early 20th century mill villages.

We - Michele & Dana - currently live in Woodfin/Asheville, NC. We have lived, separately and together, in places like San Francisco, Philadelphia, Amherst, MA and Johnson City, TN. We moved back to Woodfin in November 2016 and fell in love with Western NC's mountains and wildlife right along with Asheville's downtown area. Michele is a life coach and former DJ and videographer. Dana is a UX Designer and occasional web & graphic designer. We met in 2009 and were married on Halloween night in 2015 at Michele's family home in Fairview. We're not usually big on lists, but together we agree that 5 things we can't live without are good friends, great conversations, music (we like almost every genre!), laughter and family (bio, chosen and our fur babies). Also, you might not guess it, but we're EQ2 gamers :-)
