Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Arrow Brick House is a beautiful, dog friendly cabin just minutes from Port Arthur Historic site, Three Capes Track and Remarkable cave.

Breathe in pure air as you enjoy views over misty mountains, sparkling water and the Tasman Island Lighthouse.

Arrow Brick House is perfect for those who love romantic, wild places and cosy interiors. We recommend a few days to relax and enjoy the property and explore the local area.

The space
Arrow Brick House is your perfect getaway to escape the world. Set on lush pastures in the rolling hills above the Port Arthur Historic site and over looking the start of the 3 Capes Track Walk , the thoughtfully appointed, two bedroom cabin awaits you.

The main bedroom has a queen sized bed, while the second bedroom has a single bed. You’ll stay warm with a crackling fire, as well as air conditioning, throw rugs and electric blankets on the beds. A well equipped kitchen includes all your cooking essentials and the living room has a fireplace, comfy couch and a bookcase well stocked with books and games.

When you venture outside into the fresh air, enjoy the beautiful views from the deck and watch the wrens flitting around the lawn. The sunrise over the mountains is particularly lovely, especially when viewed from your private outdoor bath nestled amongst the ferns. Along with some comfy verandah chairs, you’ll find beanbag lounges in the summer months and a fire pit in the winter months to help you make the most of the views. Depending on the time of year you may find herbs, berries, daffodils or blossoms in the garden.

On a clear night you can see the millions of stars and the flash of the Tasman lighthouse (& maybe an aurora if you are very lucky!).

Best of all your best friend (your dog!) is welcome to join you on your adventure. The yard around the house is fully fenced to keep both your dog and the wildlife safe.

You are a 5 min drive to the Historic site and all the sights and walks of the Tasman Pensinsula are easily accessible by car. Although it is only an hour and a half drive from Hobart you’ll feel a world away.

If you are doing the Three Capes Track, a stay at Arrow Brick House is the perfect way to start or end your walk. Spend a night or two relaxing in the bath and easing your aches with a glass of local Tasmanian wine. You can also do the day hike out to Cape Raoul to complete all 3 of the Capes.

Please note that the cabin has stairs to the upstairs bedrooms. If you have mobility concerns please take this into account before booking.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to enjoy the fenced internal yard around the house, including the veggie and herb garden, and the areas in front of the house including the large wattle tree and sunny front dam area.

Please ensure the gate near the house is kept closed so wallabies cant eat the garden at night. If you have a dog we ask you keep them secure within the large fenced house area at all times.

Other things to note
1. If you are planning to bring your dog, please make sure you include this in the booking. We have some friendly and inquisitive free range chickens and want to keep them safe.
2. Mobile coverage is good with all providers at the house but elsewhere on the Peninsula it may be that only Telstra works. There is wifi at the property but no tv so bring your own device for movies. There is a Tivoli Bluetooth speaker for tunes.
2. The kitchen is very well equipped and you’ll find full cream milk, tea (bags and loose), coffee (plunger), oil, salt, pepper and herbs and spices and a great selection of cooking utensils. You will also have farm fresh eggs from our chickens when available.
3. The closest big supermarkets are at Sorell but there are 2 IGAs at Nubeena. You may wish to buy water to drink as the water is unfiltered rain water.
4. If driving from the north go through Sorrell rather than through the state forest on weingatta road unless you have a 4wd.
5. In the summer months you’ll need to make reservations for dinner as places book out and in winter some venues may be closed.
6. Smoking is allowed outside only. Please use ashtray provided.
7. The fire pit is only available in winter when bushfire is not a risk and is not available over summer (generally November to March).

I have been Airbnb hosting since 2014 and my partner Nigel joined me in 2021. Arrow Brick House is a dream come true for us as Port Arthur is in such a beautiful and remote part of the world and we love living here.
