Graham and Christine are passionate about living sustainably in Tasmania.
Falling in love with this lush green valley and its clear-flowing river we purchased a 36 Ac farm in 2001 and set about building the five brick and stone cottages which now sit looking out over the Ringarooma River. The former degraded cow paddock has been transformed to give each cottage its own private native garden with outdoor bar-be-que setting.
We are keen to learn about sustainable living, and very happy to share our experiences with our guests. More often than not our gardening efforts benefit the possums more than the human inhabitants; but we persist!
Rain is harvested to supply clean chemical-free water and a micro-hydro powers the cottages. Waste water is recycled back onto the farm. Guests are encouraged to collect eggs, pick vegetables and fruit from our organic garden and catch trout for the BBQ. In summer the river is ideal for a refreshing swim!

During your stay
We are happy to spend time with you to show you around our farm, introduce you to our alpacas and to describe the operation of our micro hydro—you can walk the 3km pipeline up to our intake weir, if you wish! We are always pleased to share our local knowledge of the North East Tasmania, including the MTB trails and many bushwalks, beaches and waterfalls. On occasions we have shared meals with our guests. However, if you wish to be totally private, that's OK too.
