Shady Brook 2 bedroom alpine spa cottage was purpose built to fit into the historical high plains environment and its rich history. The cottage is craftsman built superbly furnished and fitted out set back for seclusion and privacy. Surrounded by landscaped gardens, Mountains as a backdrop and the Ovens River as your entry less than 1 km from the centre of Harrietville. Its more than accommodation its a unique holiday experience ideally situated no matter what activities you choose.

The space
Shady Brook has magnificent gardens with places to play and or stroll. Inhabited by over 60 species of birds its setting offers you a place in which you can relax. Our aim is not simply to supply accommodation but a holiday experience. You could as some do not move from shady brook or use it as a starting point for endless all year round activities.

We offer you a free extensive video library or if you wish organise with us a garden tour. WiFi is currently available in the Apartment or at the office.
If you would like a garden tour with your hosts John and Anne simply ask and make a time.

Other things to note
Shady Brook is bounded on one side by the Ovens River and on other sides by forest on a steeply rising mountain The cottages and main garden are established on the river flat between the river and mountain. It offers a unique micro environment for your experience and enjoyment. However its only a 500m walk to our local bakery and a coffee

Neighbourhood highlights

Harrietville is a true mountain village, surrounded by some of the tallest mountains in Victoria. Less than five km across from mountain to mountain with the pristine Ovens running through it. Its the ideal place for any nature based activity, four wheel driving or simply to do the tourist thing and sight see the surrounding areas. Hotham only 45minutes away through spectacular alpine scenery. Bustling Bright only 20 minutes in the opposite direction with shops cafes and beyond to world renowned wineries. Harrietville is rich in cattle and mining history, has great streams for fishing and a trout farm if you a fallback.
