This is a lovely summer cottage on a beautiful, quiet lake. It seems like only insiders know about Caspian Lake--there were no rowdy people, very little traffic on the water, and a general feeling that we'd found a secret hideaway. In spite of feeling so away from it all, the house is less than 10 minutes from all the shopping you will need to do (except for liquor store, which is 20 minutes away). The feel of the house is very quaint, it's full of gorgeous antiques and lots of family memorabilia. There are kayaks to use and paddling the lake is great fun. At night, the stars are amazing. The wifi was very good, so if you want to stream movies instead of venturing out, you can. Hayden was a great host, and left so many kind notes and welcome gifts for us. We were there during the annual "Lantern Festival," when locals launch floating, colored lanterns over the lake. We only knew about this because Hayden left us our very own lantern to launch, along with info about where the festival was happening.
