The space
Huskisson B&B
The BnB is a 100-year-old original Australian weatherboard house, with high ceilings and wide verandahs, modernised as a BnB.
Our BnB has become known for its creative style as well as its relaxed atmosphere. We have won awards and been featured in magazines, as well as the prestigious Sydney Morning Herald's '52 weekends away' and 'Country Style'.
We are not serving breakfast currently, but there are lots of excellent cafes (3-5 mins walk away) including a great food van across the road.
The Verandah room has a lovely, airy feel with a four-poster queen bed and direct access off a private verandah area. Raked ceilings, white floors, plantation shutters. Vintage art and mirrors. There is a desk and if you are here to work or write we can provide an ergonomic chair.
The big ensuite bathroom has a big (double ended!) cast-iron clawfoot bath and a large walk-in shower. Heated towel rail.
We are an eco-friendly ('green') B&B: we line-dry all cotton linen, provide solar hot water and we recycle everything we can. We have ceiling fans and efficient air-conditioning for cooling and heating.
Everything you need is provided - huge bath towels and white cotton bed linen, duvet/doona and wool blankets for cooler nights. Super comfy mattress and pillows. Electric blankets for winter nights. Beach towels too.
Small fridge, kettle, coffee pod machine, microwave and toaster.
Smart TV, netflix and free fast WIFI.
Parking is right next to your room.
We are very close to the hub of Huskisson - just a 5 minutes' walk to everything: the dolphin and whale cruise wharf, ferry, sea pool, heritage 'tiny' cinema, restaurants, cafes, 2 bakeries, bank, gorgeous boutique clothes and homeware shopping, dive centre, parks, walking and cycling tracks, national park and all the beautiful white sand beaches.
Jervis Bay
Jervis Bay's beaches have some of the whitest sand in the world and crystal-clear blue waters. The bay is calm and safe for swimming. The Moona Creek lagoon is a walk away. Eucalyptus forest comes all the way down to the edge of the sand on the beaches. The huge bay is a Marine Park and has visiting whales (June to November) and hundreds of resident dolphins you can see all year. The national parks have kangaroos and there are even wallabies on the beach sometimes. There are sugar-gliders and possums and parrots, lorikeets, cockatoos and kookaburras living in our trees. Jervis Bay really is like paradise.
This area doesn't have great public transport but there is local bicycle hire with plenty of great walking and cycle tracks for you to explore as mentioned above. There are some buses, but if you really want to explore the national parks and everything Jervis Bay and the Shoalhaven have to offer, it is best to drive - or hire a car.
Very sorry but we don’t take kids anymore. Ideal for couples or singles - there is one super comfy queen bed only.
We have a friendly chocolate labrador that lives with us in our section of the house. He never goes into guest rooms but might visit you on the verandah.
Guest access
We will give you the code for the key safe. You have direct access to the room from the verandah.
No access to the main house anymore, sorry.
During your stay
We live in the main house, entirely separate to your B&B room. Your room is entirely self-contained (no kitchen but a microwave, small fridge, toaster, pod coffee and kettle) and completely private. We are mostly around or contactable if you need anything.
Other things to note
We are an established Boutique BnB with two queen rooms. The rooms are 'room only' so we do not any breakfast currently but there is a fridge, toaster, coffee machine kettle and microwave in the room and numerous excellent cafes 5 minutes walk away.
We are in a residential zone so we do ask for our guests to be very thoughtful about neighbours and respect the quiet after 10pm rule.
The verandah room has its own private entry key code access from the verandah.
We have another AirBnB guest room at the other end of the house (and verandah) with private access called Porch Room @HuskissonBnB.
We live in the main part of the house, but your room is private, seperate and sound proofed.
You have your own private and screened section of the verandah for dining but we do live in the house so there might be people coming and going.
We have a chocolate labrador that lives with us in our section of the house. He never goes into guest rooms but might visit you on the verandah.
