Katja & Jan’s beach house is in a great residential spot just 20 min. by car from Copenhagen! We never got to meet Katja & Jan, although they live apparently but 50 m away from the house, and Katja’s parents are just next door. Communication was great. They are super « texters », and responded instantly to any request we had, and even offered to come by to explain some of the « quirky » bits in the house, such as the lights, despite the numerous paper indications on how to get them to function. The beach house used to be a shop, so kudos to them for having been creative enough to make it a functional and spacious living space. Our two nights there were restful, and the area offers plenty of options in terms of restaurants (Lucky Sushi next door is delicious and had quality customer service despite our arriving just before they were about to close) and shopping with a mall nearby. The beach is a very short and peaceful walk from the house and the view once there breathtaking! Like Katja & Jan, we are foodies, and were able to venture into an area that probably a lot of people overlook when visiting Copenhagen – the former Meat Packing District (or Kodbyen in Danish). Our tummies & palates were in food heaven thanks to our dinner at Kodbyens Fiskebar (Kod og Flaeskehal)! Katja & Jan offer a wealth of information on Copenhagen, and are more than happy to share their insight and/or help out in any way they can.
