We've just discovered we're directly on Avenue Verte - so perfect for London to Paris cycling trip!
The End Cottage was built in 17th century & has many of its original features still well preserved and intact. This is our first house & we very much enjoy the mixture of modern & vintage features.
The End Cottage is in a quiet village called Rotherfield, with towns of Crowborough & Tunbridge Wells nearby. There's number of pubs within walking distance & plenty of nice country walks near by.
On the ground floor, we have a sitting room, with a big comfy sofa, which is facing beautiful wood burner (and less important TV), and a breakfast bar with two 'tractor seat' stools. Fully equipped kitchen is half a level down past the sitting room. Kitchen has a view & access to the back garden, which is equipped with seating area. We have BT cable tv, with number of various channels, including BT Sports and there's a good wifi throughout the house.
Your room is on the 1st floor. There's a day bed, which is a single during the day/night and can be extended to a double for the night too. Understandably, there's much less space left within the room once the bed is extended. There's a desk area / work area with a computer, which you're welcome to use. There's a small landing and a bathroom on the first floor too. This bathroom is shared between us.
On the second floor, we have our main bedroom, where I & my wife stay.
As you may be able to tell from the pictures, there is a lot of exposed wooden beams throughout our house. Number of these are fairly low and you will need to be careful not to hit your head if you're taller than us (I'm 175 cm and I just get away with it). Stairways are rather narrow & possibly steep, so you need to be careful & fairly agile.
You're welcome to use anything you like, from TV, hairdryer, washing machine to wifi or coffee machine.
We have a secure garage at the back of our garden, where you can safely store bicycles & other stuff.
Interaction with guests
I & my wife live here. We may occasionally work from home, but mostly we commute to our offices in London every day.
Other things to note
We're happy to accommodate well behaved pets. We don't have any pets at the moment as our busy work schedule doesn't quite allow us to enjoy pets full time, however, we use sharemydoggy website and here and there borrow someone's dog to stay with us - this is only at some weekends.
- Just treat our house as you'd treat your own.
I & my wife Lucy have used Air B&B on our travels around the world & we're finally able to set up our own Air B&B. We like bit of travelling, bit of rock & roll, few pints of ale & the occasional Sunday roast. But we're easy going and we'll try anything. We've been to some incredible places from Myanmar to Zanzibar & enjoy meeting people from all various parts & cultures of the world.
