The space
When you stay there will be just you, unless you book in family or friends or want to join a retreat :-) We recycle, re-use, conserve all resources & have many sustainable features. Please read manual if you don't do this already. We encourage those interested in this lifestyle to explore the features here. Very happy to explain or show you simple tricks like stopping weeds in brick paving, gravel paths, etc. We expect guests to respect the clean green lifestyle.
If you are interested in community-living, this is a great opportunity to try it out, and welcome you to stay over for as little as a weekend, or some months. Special prices can be arranged for long-term stays.
Families can book extra room - both beds accommodate couples :-)
Note - back corner of backyard we are building a strawbale, wooden floor extension using mostly recycled materials. So workers will arrive from 7am on some days in April, but plenty of interesting things to see :-)

Where you’ll be

Darlington, Western Australia, Australia

A hop from suburbia, surrounded by National parks abounding with kangaroos, other animals, and flowers with birds singing and showing off beautiful colours in the garden. Friendly, but private neighbours so much so that it feels like there is only one neighbour.
Easy access to Mundaring Weir, a historic engineering feat - pumping water 800km to Kalgoorlie, the picturesque Swan Valley - wines, cheeses, chocolate, fruit & many creative delights. Darlington is a quaint village with art galleries and abundant music/theatre performances. You might never visit the city sights with so much unique Australian nature, history and lifestyle to enjoy.

During your stay

Happy to spend time with you by informal arrangement, and can help with directions etc. I work from home, so sometimes am too busy to socialise too much, and I hope you won't be offended if I might decline sometimes :-)
I've had alot of guests because I really enjoy visitors, learning about others and its like going on a holiday myself to share time together when it suits us all. :-)
