Mountain and valley views

Soak up the views during your stay.
Echo Hills is a boutique rural retreat at the foothills of the magnificent Darling Ranges on the east coast, with views across farmland to Babel Island and the Patriarch Inlet.

At night, you can see the lighthouse on Cat Island, one of 52 remote islands in the Furneaux Group.

This charming, and extremely private, cottage is at the heart of Flinders Island – centrally located, 20 minutes from the bustling townships of Whitemark and Lady Barron, as well as the airport and rugged coastlines.

The space
Echo Hills is ideal for couples, honeymooners, bushwalkers, nature lovers, friends or families.

The airy, open plan kitchen and dining space is a great spot to enjoy a lazy afternoon or post-beach drink.

Sliding glass doors open onto a timber deck where you can watch the sun rise above Bass Strait or simply enjoy the serenity and native wildlife.

A cosy sunroom provides comfy reading chairs so you can spend hours relaxing or reading a book.

The modern kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to create restaurant quality meals during your stay.

The living room has two comfortable sofas, a large TV, reverse-cycle air-conditioning and a wood-burning heater for extra warmth in cooler months.

There are two large queen-sized bedrooms and a third with two king-singles fitted with designer 100% cotton bed linen, electric blankets and hotel quality mattresses and doonas.

The cottage has two bathrooms - one features a shower and laundry and another has a bath. There are Sheridan towels, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and a hairdryer.

When you open the door for the first time, you will be greeted by the smell of freshly made bread. Free-range farm eggs can be found in the fridge along with breakfast supplies for the first morning including milk, muesli, tea, coffee and condiments.

The owner goes the extra mile by providing fresh flowers from her garden in every room, along with magazines.

There is a laundry, BBQ, outdoor chairs, picnic equipment, iron and board games.

Guest access
The property is completely private and is situated at the end of a long gravel road at the base of the Darling Ranges on the east coast of Flinders Island. Echo Hill overlooks the large sheep and cattle property and there is only one other home nearby which also belongs to the family. While you may spot a Ute or quad bike in the paddock, the owners will not disturb you.

Other things to note
Need help creating an itinerary? Don’t worry the owners have been on the island for four generations so they are happy to share all their secret tips.
