HYGGE (pronounced HUE-gah) is a Danish word simply described as enjoying life's simple pleasures.
HYGGE is our newly renovated guesthouse, hidden in a quiet secret garden, creating the perfect backdrop for a peaceful and private stay. This charming cottage promises a comfortable, pleasant and restful retreat. It is the perfect setting for a romantic hideaway or a place to indulge, unwind and revive.

Imagine waking up to the glow of the morning sun peeks through the guesthouse windows highlighting the beautifully decorated space. A mixture of modern/industrial with a splash of Bohemian décor creates a unique and refreshingly colorful oasis.
The main living space offers a kitchenette with a microwave, mini-refrigerator and coffee/tea service. The bedroom adjoins with a comfortable, well-appointed queen size bed. Artwork collected by the host has been placed throughout the guesthouse. The bathroom features a large walk-in shower. Other amenities include satellite TV and wi-fi availability.
A continental breakfast will be available throughout the week, with a delicious hot breakfast on the weekends.
If needed guests may access washer and dryer in the main house.

Born and reared in Michigan, Ric has resided in Texas since 1980. With a varied educational experience, he has B.R.E. with a major in music and earned a couple Masters' Degrees with a M.S. in Family Studies and M.M.F.T. in Marriage and Family Therapy. Most of Ric's professional career has been in the psychiatric field with a 7 year hiatus in the restaurant and catering business. Although he still loves to cook, he has served as Executive Director of Hope of South Texas, Inc., Hope Child Advocacy Center for the past four years, a program working with abused children, primarily sexual abuse. In his work he has traveled throughout most of the US. He also has a particular fondness for Scandinavian countries, specifically Denmark.
