The place was very charming and the garden was beautiful. Bring some games and be ready to relax and spend some time with your family and friends. The town for us was remote and you had to drive a little bit for some stores, which is what we were looking for. The host was great to work with!
Jonesport is right out at the end of the world--beautiful spot. We just wanted to stay put, not run around to see the area, but I am already familiar with Downeast Maine. The cottage is comfy, kitchen has everything, tv, nice deck for watching the lobster boats, and truly gorgeous gardens. Found a good take-out restaurant just over the bridge on Wass Island. Also a good full grocery store on the way inyo town. Very peaceful stay--didn't want to leave!
It was "as expected" b/c I expected the stay at the cottage to be wonderful, and it was! Karen and her two siblingswent out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The cottage, the garden, and the setting were just what the doctor ordered. It's a serene setting overlooking a fishing bay, so "rush hour traffic" was watching the lobster boats going in and out. Comfortable, quiet, picturesque and cozy - just what the doctor ordered!
We had a wonderful time the house sits right on the ocean we watched the lobster boats go out every morning. The sunsets were beautiful. The house is just as described and Karen and Lynn were excellent hosts. Lynn even took us to see the wild blueberry fields and her camp. We watched their brother head out in his lobster boat and there was a lobster pound just behind the house. We were just between Bar Harbor and Eastport about 1 1/2 to each location
