This beautiful clean double bedroom, with adjoining toilet, is bright and sunny, with a high ceiling and Portland stone floor. It has double doors opening out onto the large garden- perfect for sitting out in the evening with a glass of wine and looking at the incredible stars. Winterborne Stickland is a quiet Dorset village, comprising many thatched cottages, and beautiful walks, such as the Wessex Way, or bike rides straight from the house. The coast is a short drive away, as is the Georgian town of Blandford Forum, Hardy's Cottage, Kingston Lacy House and the Jurassic Coast.

The space

Sunny, high ceiling, bright space with double doors which you could leave open all night. Barely any traffic noise, just the sound of bird song. Romantic, relaxing or a place to get away from it all.

Guest access

On arrival, you will be given a key to the side door so you can come and go as you please. The room has an adjoining toilet and sink. There is a chest of drawers, plenty of books and a shower or bath that can be used by arrangement. Shared use of kitchen.

Interaction with guests

I hope to interact with guests a little so they feel at home.

Other things to note

Wi-fi is available. There is also a fire pit you can use.

Thank you very much. A lovely house in a lovely area. Great variety of nearby eateries. We had a wonderful time. The room was really nice and well furnished so as to be self contained and very handy leading onto the garden when you have a dog ☺️

I had a lovely stay at Fran's place. The bedding was fresh and clean. The bed was super comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. Lovely old thatched pub across the road. Fran made me feel at home. The room was clean and tidy. Thanks again Fran. Really nice to meet you. I would love to visit again sometime. Kindest Regards Becky

Fran's home is in the middle of the Dorset countryside and full of atmosphere. The room was lovely and clean with toilet facilities and access to the garden. Breakfast was great and Fran our host was very easy going and very knowledgeable with ideas for where we could eat our evening meals.

If you want a good night's sleep in a quiet village then this is the place for you. The hostess, Fran, will give you a warm welcome. There is a pub just 1 minute's walk down the street which serves meals.

Very Highly Recommended! I spent a lovely weekend here whilst attending End Of The Road festival nearby and the host is very helpful, laid back, approachable and friendly! The room itself is very clean, pleasant and relaxing with a lovely view of the garden. I got two good nights sleep here in the bed which was comfortable and the room has an en-suite toliet and sink which is very convenient too. The wifi is superb and I would not hesitate to book again if I am visiting the area. The two dogs were very friendly and I felt very much at home!

I am a mother of 3 boys, aged 10, 12 and 14. I am a primary school teacher. I love nature, animals and the outdoors. I have a horse, 2 little dogs and chickens. I ride, cycle, swim, walk and meet friends, like a glass of wine of an evening and a new adventure or challenge. I love meeting new people and am looking forward to meeting you!
