The space

Dating back from the XVIII century, Sestelo manor-house is located in the heart of Minho, the birthplace of Portugal and the land of Vinho Verde (green wine). Located in the county of Cabeceiras de Basto, less than one hour driving from Porto, Sestelo was once the house of a Portuguese nobleman recently restored to include all the amenities of modern life.

The house old stables were converted into 3 duplex apartments, each with a double or twin bed room, 2 bathrooms with shower, a kitchenette and a living room with a double sofa bed, air-conditioning and cable TV.

All apartments have use of the swimming pool and of the panoramic terrace, overlooking the vineyard, were you can relax with a glass of “Vinho Verde” after exploring the region. The property is surrounded by vineyards, a watermill, the manor-house chapel, olive trees, fresh water fountains and the “Levada”, and old irrigation channel that you can follow until it enters the mountain.

Come and experience one of the most enchanting regions of Portugal were time has stopped and tradition still dwells in the habits of people.

The house is so beautiful! It just takes you back in time, feels like you are staying in manor house from 2 centuries ago, but with all amenities of a modern home! The kids loved the pool and the garden, the views just take your breath away... the apartment itself was very well equipped and comfortable. Ideal for those looking for relaxing holidays with the family!

Wonderful place, beautifully situated - quiet and rural, but a short drive to sites, restaurants and such. The appartment was spacious and clean, the pool area was really nice, and we enjoyed both privacy and the company of other guests. The host were very nice and welcoming.

Absolutely fantastic! Beautiful manor and grounds and excellent hosts who communicated very well to meet us and show us to the house. Welcome basket of wine, fruit and baked goods was much appreciated too! Kids loved the foosball, pool and exploring the surrounding land. We were fortunate to be the only guests - the other two apartments were empty for the duration of our stay. Only minor negative - which I suppose is part of being surrounded by vineyards - was when we were awoken a little after 7am by a loud gas-powered saw/trimmer that was used trim the vines immediately next to the house for several hours. Overall, definitely one of the best Airbnb experiences I have had and I would highly recommend it! Thank you Maria and Felipe!

Our host actually met us in the closest village and guided us in to the manor house, as it is a bit tricky. They present a lovely basket of fruits, little rolls & muffins & a bottle of their own Vinho Verde which was delicious. Maria made herself available to answer any questions we had and to give helpful tips on where to go and how to get there. The property is an absolute winner!! It is even more beautiful than the pictures convey. It is meticulously kept up by kind and quiet caretakers that came every day to tidy up the property and empty any bins we had filled. We prepared a lot of our meals onsite and since there were 3 groups (totalling 7 people) we combined our resources and ate together under the umbrellas. Shopping is about a 15 minute ride away for any groceries you need. The apartments are pretty well stocked with dishes, pots & pans & utensils. The setup is ideal for families to meet there and stay in their own private cottages. I speak for our entire group when I say it was a vacation to remember forever. Just lovely!!

How lucky were we to be staying here.A beautiful Manor house that was in ruins has been restored to its former glory. The apartment has all mod. cons. and as the only guests we had the place to ourselves. The first of the grape harvest was just brought in and what a sight to see them "trampling" them in the old traditional way.The family who own the property made us very welcome....thanks to Phillip for bringing the keys and settling us in.......and the huge welcome basket of fruit, jam, wine, bread and cakes.Because of its rural location there is noise from the many and varied local dogs.We found that a good bottle of wine,of which there are many and a pair of ear plugs did the trick. We loved our weeks stay here,it was (URL HIDDEN) was a real priviledge.many many thans

The whole place is just beautiful. It has been lovingly fitted out with everything that one needs for a relaxing stay and is spotlessly clean. It is quiet and comfortable. The large pool is in a great setting with views over the landscape. The pictures really don’t do it justice. Maria and her parents are wonderful, caring hosts. Example: On Sunday evening, we mentioned to Maria that the mattress was caving into the centre of the bed and we would like an additional pillow. Instantly we had two additional pillows. On Monday we travelled the area and to our great surprise when we got into bed that evening we discovered that we had a new mattress! The wonderful welcoming basket of local and home-made goodies was much appreciated. Thanks Maria also to your parents. We plan to be back!
