This stylish Balinese-style studio is located in a tranquil pocket of Bangalow, but it's just a five minute walk into town with it's great shops, restaurants and famous monthly market. Relax at home or head out to explore the beautiful hinterland or breathtaking local beaches.

The space

This private studio has it's own access down the side of the main house, which is adjacent. It's a beautifully-lit space, with sunlight streaming into the studio in the mornings and early afternoons.

Tastefully decorated, the studio contains everything you need for a self-contained stay, including all-new appliances: a cafe-style coffee-maker (Nespresso), toaster and kettle with tea and coffee provided. (Please note that kitchen comprises sink, fridge, toaster and drinks-making facilities - tea, coffee, smoothies. There is no stovetop or microwave, although microwave can be provided on request for longer stays).

The room contains a queen-sized bed with brand new mattress (purchased Nov 2014).

A sweet space with recently renovated "wet room" style bathroom with pebble floor and great shower.

With its own outdoor area, you can sit and enjoy a morning coffee, and, for a perfect romantic evening, relax with a glass of wine in the outdoor bath illuminated by heart-shaped fairy lights.

During the day, you are welcome to use our in-ground saltwater pool, get some shade under the palm trees in our tropical garden, or read a book on the day bed or deck chairs.

Swimming pool and outdoor space (patios and garden).

Bangalow is the kind of town you'd invent if you were inventing a small country town. It's picturesque and it's got everything you need to fill your stomach and fill your days. Eat at one of the stylish local restaurants, such as the Italian Diner, or grab a burger at our thriving pub. Take a meander around the quirky local shops where you'll find a little bit of everything and definitely something you never knew you needed. If you love vintage and antiques, you'll find shopping for them a real pleasure in Bangalow. If you're lucky, you'll be here for the monthly Bangalow Markets, where locals foodies, artisans, musicians and craftspeople come together to host a colourful community event. And if you're extra lucky, and a music lover, there'll be something on at the A&I hall during your stay, so you can soak up the atmosphere of this historical venue with it's renowned acoustics. You won't get bored of Bangalow in a weekend, but if you feel like exploring there are local beaches a ten minute drive away, or the glorious hinterland, which boasts rich and abundant natural beauty.

There are regular buses in Byron Bay and, in the other direction to Lismore. Hire a car for maximum convenience during your stay.

Pick up and drop off at the airport and/or car rental company in Byron (Hertz) are available for a fee - ask your hosts.

Beautiful, comfortable and as described by both reviews and description provided by hosts. I popped a chair under the bath spout to keep it flowing into the bath. Well equipped little space with fan, hair dryer, towels bedding etc. The privacy provided was fine for me even though the retreat is close to the main house and the windows do overlook the door and bath area. It's a lovely relaxing space beautifully decorated to make you feel special.

The moment you walk through the gates it feels like an island escape. The outdoor bath is a gem and the attention to detail in the styling in the studio so on point. Summertime escapes like this left me feeling refreshed.

We really enjoyed our stay. The studio was comfy and really relaxing. The sound of the rain on the roof whilst sleeping in the super comfy bed was great. It was a short drive to Bangalow Main Street. Roz was welcoming and friendly. We would stay again!

Roz User Profile

I'm Roz. After 20 years working in book publishing in the various big cities of the UK, USA and Australia, I ran off to the country with my favourite person, Natalie, and my favourite cat, Cookie. In addition to them, I also love my kitchen and garden, travelling, yoga, and outdoorsy things like bushwalking and foraging around in markets. Postscript: I also love my daughter, aged 20 months (at August 2016). She's a good girl, but she's a toddler, so it's only fair to warn you.

Natalie and I are both creative people, and we run a small publishing book company up here in the hinterland, specialising in illustrated books. I also do some writing and have written several published pieces about Byron Bay, so feel free to ask me questions about what to do during your stay here.
