We have a lovely Double room with bathroom on our flower farm 30 minutes drive from the Great Ocean Road near the 12 Apostles which we would love to share with visitors. Enjoy space, peace, wonderful birdlife an easy daytrip from the coast.

The space

Our cosy double room and bathroom with freshly laundered linen overlooks a flower paddock and bush gully. An overhead fan and insect proofed openings allow cool airflow in summer while radiant heating warms it in winter. Enjoy access to the farm and home garden in the protection the hinterland offers.

This accommodation is 40 minutes drive from the Great Ocean Road near the 12 Apostles. Enjoy space, peace, a riverside location, wonderful birdlife an easy daytrip from the coast.

This location offers valley views, an extensive private garden you are welcome to share and a family enthusiastic to welcome visitors from afar. We love to explain the best experiences the Otways have to offer including waterfalls and rainforests as well as the Shipwreck Coast and the Great Ocean Road. The room very comfortably suits single or double travellers. You will need your own wheels to reach us.

Amenities include large television, radio reception, dvd player & library, cooking facilities and a rambling garden you are free to enjoy. We live in a remote valley where the telephone mobile signal is unreliable. While satellite broadband is operational, the internet is available only for emergency use. Due to rivers and creeks, our location could be considered unsuited to young children. No laundry.

We are present for all guests, welcome them enthusiastically and are ready to help as needed. We are also busy running a working farm so are not always on hand.

Carlisle River is surrounded by State Forest, resident to a rich variety of flora and fauna including wallabies, echidnas and many bird species. Streams and rivers flow through the valley which is farmed for dairying. Towns in close proximity include Gellibrand and Lavers Hill. The Gellibrand River estuary off the Great Ocean Road is a little known and beautiful place to explore. Triplet Falls at Beech Forest offers one of our favourite walks.

Transport is by private vehicle.

The bed and bath rooms are private with a separate entry. You have access to lounge and kitchen facilities as well as parking. The farm, garden and river valley are free to explore.

We open our property to share its loveliness but also to meet interesting people leading different lives to own. We like to meet and settle you in but we want you to enjoy your privacy while we go about our own routines. We are always in residence at the times the property is on offer.

Guest access

You will have access to bedroom, bathroom (shower/toilet), open kitchen lounge and large outdoor terrace and garden.

Interaction with guests

Usually we are in residence and while working from home have the time for chats and directions to travel.

Other things to note

If possible, it is better to plan to arrive before nightfall for safer driving conditions (wildlife and navigation). Heading back out to the 12 Apostles for sunset after checking in is worth considering. Check in time preferred before 9pm or by prior arrangement.

We loved this little secluded country getaway. Couldn't fault a thing. So comfortable and stylish and Lisa is so welcoming. It's private and spacious and somewhere you can easily settle into for a couple of days - just buy some supplies on the way & you'll be sorted. We'd love to return one day when all the garden flowers are in full bloom!

We had a wonderful and peaceful stay in the tranquil surrounds. Very friendly hosts! Fresh flowers, fresh orange juice, even provided gumboots so we could explore the huge gardens and farm.

Perfect location for a weekend getaway - it's an easy drive to waterfalls and walks around the otways, aswell as the great ocean road. The place itself was clean, stylish and had everything we needed! Also it warms up super well for the winter months! Will definitely be coming back!

Lisa's place is just perfect! My partner and I stayed for a weekend and loved every aspect. The space is stunning and has everything you could possibly need. Lisa was a fabulous host, showing us around her beautiful property, offering advice for things to do in the area & leaving us with some delicious bread and produce from her garden, she really has thought of everything! We would absolutely love to come back some time soon.

We live on a 100 acre property in the Otways, southern Victoria. We are horticulturists and grow foliage for the cut flower market.
