Staying here suited me perfectly! It was easy to get to from the airport (once the difficulty of buying a train ticket is overcome!). The neighbourhood is charming, elegant and quiet, as well as being close to the centre, into which I walked through the public gardens and then d…
I didn't see my host much and that was fine, they were pleasant. There place is a book filled apartment very close to the major tourist and shopping area. There are also some lovely little wine bars, restaurants and cafes in their street. If your into 50's architecture the villas…
I did not have my AirBnB password, otherwise I would have sent in this review with gusto 4 weeks ago. Where to begin?????? Loud rap music from the brother of the host. Tram noise that simulates living in an earthquake zone. Everything lacking maintenance from hot and cold runn…
Response from Francesco:
I think Andrew is just not used to travel by airbnb. We called our place "Milan in family", not "Milan in the Plaza hotel". It's a beautiful lived apartment, where you can feel how a real milanese (kind of wealthy, my parents are both important journalists) family leaves. We behave normally, we clean our dishes twice per day, it's normal to find a couple of cups on the table right after breakfast. My brother, as most of teenagers, listens to rap music, and he turns it off in the evening, not to bother anyone. Hot water works perfectly, just wait a few seconds. Bathrooms in Italy work like this, even in 5 stars hotels. You cannot lock your room, as my parents cannot lock their room: the apartment is locked, but inside we're supposed to trust each other. The mattress is an orthopedic one. Andrew left the milk in the wrong spot, we used it thinking it was ours, and as he told us we bought another one for him. Before his arrival Andrew called me several times on my private cell phone late at night from Australia, waking me up, to ask if they could reserve another room for another couple in the same place (it should be pretty clear that we only rent a room in our apartment): we don't have a 24h reception, my cell phone is for emergencies, otherwise you can write me. Andrew has been accusing my family of steeling things from his suitcase, especially my brother (as he's an evil rapper) and the cleaning lady (a friend of ours since 10 years, probably because she's south american): we don't tolerate prejudices. The last thing: a bit of respect, you cannot stand in front of the tv during the world cup match of Italy trying to explain us why football is a stupid sport.
I was born in Rome and I grew up in Milan. I love books, travels, music and cinema. I'm a Philosophy PhD at the University "la Sapienza" of Rome, I studied one year in Paris and traveled six months in Brasil. Now I live in Rome... so I leave you my room in my parents' house in Mi…
