Relaxed luxury awaits in this large house in beautiful Berry. From the moment you receive your welcome hamper of local and hand made breads, cakes and condiments, to the time you sadly leave, you will be assured of a comfortable and relaxed base from where you can enjoy the gorgeous village of Berry and pretty surrounding countryside and beaches.

The home is perfect for families or groups of friends wanting a country getaway.

Ask me about last minute availability.

The space
Rosie’s @ Berry is the perfect home where you can relax in luxurious comfort while you explore the glorious Berry area. The house is appointed with all you could need for a celebration or a family get-together, with comfort and convenience the priority.

Upon arrival you will be welcomed with a guest hamper of local sourdough bread and various jams or marmalades, or chutneys and pickles, or cakes or biscuits I have made. After a quick orientation to the house, you will be left to settle into comfort and relaxation.

The three bedrooms have (from 2017) new beds, super soft quilts, pure cotton bedding and a selection of pillows to suit a range of preferences. All rooms have their own reverse cycle air conditioning so you can set the temperature to individual comfort levels and there are fans for those who prefer to enjoy a gentle breeze. Each room has a large wardrobe with plenty of coat hangers and an ottoman for your suitcase, or when putting on shoes.

Two rooms have queen beds and the third bedroom has a king bed.

In case there are extra guests, the front lounge has a single sized day bed that converts into a king size bed easily (two single mattresses) or a single mattress can be made up on the floor beside the daybed. The pocket doors can be closed to make this a private room. When not needed as an extra bedroom, this lounge also has its own TV and DVD player, plus a range of books and games to play.

The generous bathroom has both a bathtub and walk in shower, with a range of bath products for you to enjoy, plus a few kid's toys for bathtime. The toilet is separate. The hot water system is gas so the hot water never runs out. There is also a stock of emergency toiletry products, because you never know what you might forget to pack!

The main living area has a large kitchen, a Tasmanian Oak dining table for 8, or 10 if needed, and a super comfortable lounge with large smart TV and Bluetooth speakers.

The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you might need, and the pantry has a wide range of provisions that guests are welcome to enjoy. It’s highly likely you will be out and about enjoying meals at the local cafes and restaurants, but when you need some quiet time at the house you are welcome to raid the pantry for anything you might fancy, from breakfast cereals, to oils, spices, sauces, rice, pasta and even flours in case you feel a need to quickly bake.

Also in the pantry is an iron and ironing board, sewing supplies, first aid supplies, sunscreens and insect repellent, batteries and a picnic set. There are also spare phone chargers in case you forget to pack you own.

The lounge opens through sliding glass and screen doors to a covered deck with a Weber gas barbeque and lots of seating, and from where you can enjoy district views from Coolangatta Mountain to the ranges. Across the lawns you can pick lemons or limes or a range of herbs and salad vegetables from the vegetable garden, depending on the season.

The house is designed to provide you with everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay, or as a lovely place to retreat to after being out and about enjoying the area or attending weddings or functions nearby.

Guest access
I will meet you on arrival and show you around as well as give you the keys. You have the full house and garden. If you need a laundry, please let me know and I will give you access in my unit.

While I live at the side of the house, my aim is to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Location

Berry, New South Wales, Australia

The jewel of the area is the charming and vibrant Berry village, a lovely 1 km walk, or 3 minute drive, away. There you can explore first class restaurants, many cafes and a wonderful range of homeware, clothing and furniture shops. The general emphasis is on showcasing local produce and goods – and a visit to the local chocolatier or The Treat Factory is a must. Breakfast or brunch at the famous Sourdough Bakery is a great way to start the day.

If you’re visiting on the first Sunday of the month then the Berry Markets at the Showground is a delight. Apart from the regular stalls you find at markets, the Berry market is a venue for local crafts, homemade goods and specialty treats, which give it a special country flavour.

Berry is also an historic village, with lovingly restored buildings. A favourite of many visitors is walking or driving around the streets and looking at the lovely homes and gardens. The local museum is highly recommended!

The entire area is picture postcard. A ten minute drive east will take you to Seven Mile Beach, and the pretty township of Gerroa, or head north to Kiama for its famous lighthouse and blowhole, or a bit further to Jamberoo for its adventure park. South is the Shoalhaven, Nowra or onto Jervis Bay, and west over the jaw-droppingly gorgeous range is Kangaroo Valley and on to the Southern Highlands an hour away. All around you will find beach, headland or bush walks, boating, fishing or swimming sites or lovely wineries and restaurants.

Berry is only two hours from Sydney or two and a half hours from Canberra. If you’d prefer to catch a train, then there is a direct train from Sydney to Kiama and then the amazingly scenic Kiama to Berry train. Even if you drive to Berry for your stay here, it’s worth taking the train to Kiama and back just for the pleasure of this pretty trip.

I highly recommend looking at the Berry tourism website for information on the village and area, but as things are always changing there is a range of brochures and information at the house as well.

During your stay
When you arrive at Rosie’s @ Berry I’ll be here to welcome you and get you settled in, and will then leave you to your privacy.

I live in a self-contained unit to the side of the house and so if you need any advice on the area or any help then all you need to do is knock on my door or phone me. Having only recently relocated from Sydney, I’ve been delighted with my explorations of the area and will be happy to share any insights with you if you want. However, the emphasis is on your complete privacy, so after I welcome you it is unlikely you will see me unless you seek me out.
