Comfy bed for better sleep

The black-out blinds and extra bedding are loved by guests.
Our 1959 vintage caravan is just 12ft long, best for a couple or two friends.

Wake up to the sounds of Lyrebirds, enjoy a private walk in our rainforest gully and stroll around the garden, one of the best private gardens in the Dandenongs.

Offering a minimum of one night stay for a quick getaway or to stay longer & enjoy the peace, light the fire pit, which is under cover, ideal if it's raining (made from a beer keg), and roast marshmallows.

The space
Made by the Roma Caravan Company in 1959, our little vintage caravan is just 12ft long, making it ideal for a peaceful getaway in the Dandenongs.

The double bed is slightly smaller than a standard double bed; the table can be made into a single bed if required for two friends to stay. It is an ideal space for two people.

Our property is 5 acres and features approximately an acre of formal garden, complete with a myriad of little paths between stunning rhododendrons and flower beds. Additionally, it boasts 2 acres of spectacular rainforest bushland, accompanied by a private track beside the small creek, surrounded by tall tree ferns.

Lyrebirds are often heard and seen along the rainforest walk (do a YouTube search to listen to the sounds they can make).

There is a heater in the caravan, so it's very cosy in the cooler months too.

There is a separate ensuite next to the caravan with a small fridge, hot shower, and composting toilet, plus a fan heater.

Guest access
Parking is available beside the van; there is room for more than one vehicle if needed, and the driveway has ample space to turn.

You are welcome to wander and relax in the lower garden area (the lawn area in front of our home is private), unwind on the hammocks by the undercover fire pit, and stroll along the private rainforest trail by the creek.

Guests are welcome to release their inner child and use the trampoline (please note that it is not in use when anyone is staying).

Other things to note
It is generally very quiet up here in the hills... the kookaburras will laugh and the birds sing. Possums can sometimes be heard growling at night.

We have Lyrebirds singing in the rainforest area. If you sit quietly, maybe one will come by...

Deer also pass through the property at times, generally during the night, and Mr Wombat also leaves evidence that he has been wandering around each night.

WATER: We use rainwater tanks and do not have mains water connected. We will have a 12-litre container of regular treated tap water for guests to use. If you would like, please bring some water for drinking.

ENSUITE beside the caravan with a small fridge, hot shower, and composting eco-toilet.

PHONE RECEPTION: Telstra works best, although most mobile services are also reliable.

This is a 'no smoking' property.

No other visitors are allowed on the property, please. This is for both privacy and insurance purposes.

The property is well-suited for a peaceful getaway with a partner or friend. Relax in the rainforest or formal garden.

Children need to be supervised at all times, please, as we have a creek and steep areas.

The area is well known for parks and gardens, forest trails, viewpoints, and wildlife. It is a delightful escape from city life or to add to your tour itinerary.

From our front gate, you can walk off into the forest for miles and explore, or walk down to the Olinda Falls.

We are very close to the Dandenong Ranges Botanical Gardens (formerly the National Rhododendron Gardens).

We are also very close to great Mountain bike riding tracks. Mathias Track, opposite our home, is a well-known bike track as well as hiking trails.
