My place is close to Historic Bath, vibrant Bristol and Wells with its Cathedral and Bishops Palace. We are very close to Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole. We are surrounded by fabulous pubs and places to visit e.g Chew Valley Lake, famous for its bird watching. East Harptree is a beautiful traditional village with lovely walks and woods accessible straight from the door. The apartment is of a high standard with separate bathroom, bedroom and lounge/kitchen. It is spacious, comfortable and cosy.

Gorgeous little hideaway, perfect for a couple of days away with our baby daughter, exploring the local area. The hideaway is finished to a very high spec, with everything we needed including a very comfy bed and a great shower. Thanks so much for having us, we'd love to return in the future.

We stayed for a week at Harptree Hideaway. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped with everything you need. There is a visitor pack with suggestions for day trips and local pubs and restaurants as well as some OS maps for Cheddar Gorge etc. Steve is on hand if you need any help or suggestions for places to visit. The cottage is in East Harptree, which has great views of Chew Valley Lake. There is a small shop in the village but the pub has sadly closed. East Harptree is within easy driving distance of Bristol, Bath, Cheddar, Glastonbury, Wells. Recommend a visit to Avebury Stone Circle and the Queen Vic at Priddy.

Beautifully decorated cozy apartment where my husband, myself and our Rough Collie stayed for 2 nights on 20 & 21st July. Ideal spot for a walking holiday in the woods in the Mendip Hills and very near the city of Wells and the Cheddar Gorge. Great hosts indeed. It would be important to have a GPS or a smart phone as it was somewhat difficult to find East Harptree particularly if you arrive as we did at night in the dark. However Steve saved the day( night) and came to our rescue and both he and Kate had us installed in the apartment swiftly. Many thanks for all the extras - much appreciated. A lovely and peaceful place to stay if you like to see Wells, Bath and the surrondings. The house is very well decorated, everything new and has a lovely kitchen. Wifi works perfect and the view to the garden is very nice. To have a car to go there is a must, but easy to find with the explications from Steven.

The hideaway was a perfect home from home and great value as a place to stay. We arrived in drizzly weather and the place was cozy and comfortable. Made all the more welcome with milk and basics to immediately unwind. Clean, warm and accessible to nearby Wells and other attractions.

Sure, this place is a bit hidden but well worth finding. Kate and Steve are wonderful hosts. The apartment is large and is beautiful. It was very comfortable. The area is secluded but there are a few restaurants within a few minutes. It sort of rests halfway in between Bath ad Bristol (about 17 miles from each). The driving is spectacular. If you love nature and a great family atmosphere, this is the place.

Myself and my wife Kate live next door to Harptree Hideaway with our 5 year old twins. Long term residents of this beautiful area, we are keen to share all our local knowledge with you. We live in a wonderful area for walking, climbing, caving, cycling and bird watching.
