Interaction with guests
We might wave or say hi if we see you in the yard or driveway. Otherwise we'll be available by text.
Other things to note
We have two active boys in our part of the house upstairs from your space. They sleep between 8:30pm and 8am. During the day if we're inside there can be quite a bit of bumping and thumping from above. You will also hear footsteps and voices from upstairs. Most of our guests don't mind the sounds but if you're sensitive this might not be the place for you. The kids run around and sometimes jump off the furniture. If you're looking for a very quiet place to stay indoors for your whole visit this may not be the place for you. If you're ok with the sounds this will work great for you.
Guests need to keep the door closed on hot days to avoid too much hot air combining with cool air in the apartment. The floors are very cool and water will condense on them if the door is left open when it is hot and humid out. We have an ejector pump for waste water. Only 1, 2 and TP in the toilet. If a guest puts something in the toilet that damages the pump the guest will pay the cost of the plumber. No candles.
We're a nature, campfire, music, cooking, mall and community loving family. I'm a mom at home full time. In my former life I worked with kids on the autism spectrum. My husband works in robotics. We unschool (a form of homeschooling) our two young boys. They are wild, untamed beasts (not for lack of trying to tame them) and we mostly just try to make sure they don't kill themselves. They run free in our yard and gardens and play in the creek in the forest. Our land is too great not to share. As hosts we hold comfort and cleanliness as top priorities and strive to make sure the apartment is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable, convenient stay. Perfect serene silence, however, can not be guaranteed. We're an active family upstairs from the guest apartment. At least the kids go to bed by 8pm (most of the time).
