Hi! I'm Alex and Rhea and we manage 2 cottages, Thunderbird and Owl Cottages.
Each cottage is licensed for 5 people. There are 5 beds in 2 bedrooms in each cottage so contact us and let us know your sleeping arrangements. The Japanese Thunderbird is a snow-white grouse that lives in the snow in the mountains and never migrates. Then there is the Owl a symbol of knowledge and wisdom, and so we decided to name our cottages after some birds that live locally.
Besides the world-class powder snow that offers epic skiing in the winter, Hakuba is full of photographic opportunities during the other 3 seasons. Mountain Wildflowers in the Spring, Trekking in the mountains in the summer, the climate in Hakuba is much cooler than Tokyo during the joyous Obon festival in August. We should also mention the locally grown blueberries and cherries, the glorious changing colors of leaves in the Autumn when the Apples and Nashi fruit ripen.
Together we make a team, Rhea speaks Japanese and English and Alex speaks English and Japanese.
We love Hakuba and its environs and hope to make your stay here as memorable and happy as we possibly can.
